Jackie O's (2018)

No problem. I was just freaking that Untappd was going to knock one off my count. I'm within somewhat reasonable striking distance of the next distinct checkins badge. But I'm not so close that I wouldn't be upset by losing a beer.

 

Just opend BBCV dark apparition. This is the second infected JO’S after 2015 Black Maple. Tried to go back few pages but didn't see any talks about infection. Sorry if this is old news. But have anybody else noticed something off lately ?

 

Have had both these beers in the past few weeks and both were amazing.

 

Recently purchased a 2016 bb dark apparition with the same issue I emailed jackie O's they are making it right

 

Had a BA dark apparition last night at dinner and it had a sour, off taste. It was very unpleasant.

 

Champ is drinking perfect right now. Out the gate it was all coffee and I almost regretted buying multiples but now everything is coming through and it couldn't be better. Anyone else have one recently?

 

Okay, was wondering when I should do this, I've waited since having it on draft after the release. Will crack one now to confirm!

 

Wow just at first sip and whiff while still cold, it does seem to be improving. Smell is better, with a essence of vanilla cream dollop stirred into some nice soft coffee and a little melted. It's tasting less harsh and boozy, with a nice softening slightly sweetened chocolate milk mixed in to the rest of the elements I originally got when 'fresh.'

 

Having trouble searching this thread on mobile -- can someone remind me when the anniversary release is? I thought it had been moved to early January...

Has anyone heard anything about potential releases? Hoping they keep the release the same way they did last year. I personally liked the early Friday bottle release at the brewery. Line wasn't too crazy and let the ppl interested in draft only hit uptown first.

 

Jan 6th and 7th, similar to last year's bottle release.

Is it too soon to start asking about deets for the anniversary thing? I need to know if I'm getting Bluto drunk or Wade Boggs drunk.

Isn't that like graduating from "hiking" Cuyahoga Valley National Park straight to Mt. Everest?

Whatever happened to GLBC, SN, or even Sam Adams for any easy transition

 

I'll be traveling and spending time with family that has never tried craft. They will get the "lesser" beers you mention. I'll also be meeting up with beer people at beer places. For this, I would like to share Jackie O's with them. I apologize for not delineating every intention clearly. I hope I didn't cause too much consternation with my egregious post and the blasphemous idea that it put forth.

 

Wow, touched a nerve there! Forgive me for interpreting your original comment as posted and thinking Wood Ya is a little much for someone that hasn't strayed beyond Coors.
