I wasn't quite convinced at first but I've decided this is probably my tops in pumpkin beers. For strong ones probably Pumkyn.[IMG]

One of my stores has a ton of their stuff. Got a pretty nice drop of Sexy Chaos and Attenuator Dopplebock the other day. They have a few others too right now. Can't Dog, Toughcats, a couple pales, Little Mayhem, maybe a couple others.

Just spent the night moving things from my closet down to the basement. Now I need a refreshment. Maine Beer IV will do. Surprised to see I already reviewed this. MBC makes some really great IPAs. Super smooth and fresh. Damn good stuff. Cheers!

I used to hate Winter Lager, I thought it was spiced all to hell and damn near undrinkable. Not sure if the recipe or my pallet has changed, but this is an entirely different beer than what i remember from 4-5 years ago. Smooth, malty, balanced, almost chocolatey on the back end, just a tinge of spice, I'll drink this all winter from now on.

Not a new beer, but a new glass!

The beer is my current favorite pumpkin ale, Fairgrounds Fall Ale from Brothers Craft Brewing. Actually the only one of the style I've had so far that really impressed me -- it basically pulled off that "pumpkin pie, but also a malty toasty beer" thing that I had always hoped for when trying pumpkin ales. The spices are present but not overpowering, there's some sweetness, there's some toasty malt flavor in there, there's also that creamy-seeming earthy-fruity flavor that I can only assume comes from the pumpkin itself since this is an actual pumpkin beer and not just a "pumpkin spice" beer... everything just works together.

The glass, I found at Goodwill today. Thought it would be kinda neat to have a glass with the logo (well, the old logo) of one of my local-ish breweries, especially since I've actually visited them before and happened to have one of their beers in my fridge at the time! They also had a few other local beer/cider glasses -- Starr Hill and Bold Rock cider, if I'm remembering right -- but I decided to limit myself to just one. XD

...and here's the "after" picture for the glass, now sans beer:

My last one of these! Couldn't resit using proper glassware for this one folks. One of favorites this time of the year and in fact one of my favorite beers from Sixpoint in general.

I really love how this beer is clearly making it known that It realizes that the beer stratosphere is changing! Sixpoint mentions it's awareness of the whole New England haze crave that is taking place, using clever terms to describe it such as "Storm Clouds". So they "reformulated" this beer and it's know called a cloudy red ale.

While this beer is great, IMHO it is not cloudy at all or particularly heavy on the mouth feel. In fact it's extremely clear. Beer is good either way But I dont like that they seem to be using the therm "Cloudy" as a selling pitch for their beer. That or their brew facility in TN did translate the recipe as the Sixpoint intended.

Good beer either way but felt compelled to elongate this post!

    Cheers!
