I probably didn't make this clear enough, but I meant it in a "getting in before the hype" sense that EVENTUALLY, one might be incredible.

Though, fwiw, I loved short dark and extra handsome as much as most other good bb stouts.

Edit: and out of memory, red wine in absentia was quite nice.

The logic makes sense but they have yet to prove they can make an awesome stout. It's the FOMO. People will buy 10 okay beers for the chance that the 11th will be awesome. Everything I've had has been mediocre.

Well, if we're talking bottles (not stouts), I thought By and By (their Holy Mountain collab) is probably in their top three beers overall.

I really enjoyed the Vanilla IAL and will probably buy more of their upcoming bottles.

Red Wine IAL was the 2nd beer I had from OH (AGE being the first). Visited the tap room and got a 32 of both. Red Wine IAL was one of my favorite OH beers. So fucking good and I've been hoping they would surprise us with another batch of it for over a year.

Quick question: has any heard anything about the vanilla being infected? I have a trader who backed out of a trade for one of each bottle and a 4 pack of BUTS based on reports that the vanilla is infected. Are these credible reports?

Nothing on RateBeer, Beer Advocate or Untappd about infections. Think you might just have a bad trader.

Yeah, the only thing I've heard is some people saying its "over-carbed" but I disagree.

This is my assumption as well. I think he just didn't like the early reviews of these beers and decided to back out under the guise of the beer being infected. He cited reports that it was over-carbed with that being an early indicator of infection, but that should in no way nullify a trade agreement IMO.

Anyone know if any Forever cans are leftover for today?

Careful, man...you may just get attacked for having an opinion that doesn't align with the blind allegiance fanboyism certain people in this thread commonly display

The fanboys in the thread are annoying for sure. But for every fanboy there's also the offsetting in-the-know-guy who's buying tons of Mediocre Other Local Brewery IPA with a forced grin and making sure everyone is aware of it, on this thread because it's "so much better". So I think it all balances out.

They had about 90 or so cases when I picked up a 4 pack on Sunday. Can't imagine it will sell out soon.

On the topic of Forever Ever, anyone have opinions on the recipe tweak?

I actually like this batch a lot. Was not a fan of the last one I tried. Better mouthfeel which bends more towards an APA rather than session IPA, which is fine with me. My biggest complaint with session IPAs is that most of them are like hop water.

That's why I like my "everyday IPAs" to be around 6%, I love when OH releases beers around 6 -7%. That's the reasoning why I love their Single hopped IPA series of beers.

Gah, that's my complaint too and it sounds like I should've gotten in on this one.

I hope this is the recipe being used going forward. This tends to be the OH beer on tap at a lot of restaurants and random bars with weak beer lists. This'll make my decision a lot easier. Cool to see them updating an older beer that they make a lot of.

Opened a vanilla Saturday, and while it was by no means "a gusher", it did seem slightly over carbed to me. that being said, once it settled it tasted great!
