This is good news, as the BB and base Breakfast Stout have proven too enjoyable to not be widely (or repeatedly) sampled by our community. Thank you for working hard to increase production, even though you had to sacrifice some perfectly good beer in the process.:slight_frown:

On a similar note, one of the early themes of this thread was the relative lack of great NW stouts in a 12 oz format. Is there any chance that next year's run of Breakfast Stout could find its way into cans? Pretty please?

Founders will be entering our market soon, but I'll be damned if I don't prefer your version to theirs...

@EdwardAbbey - I agree - having a stout in cans would be great, when we figure out some capacity issues it would be nice to have a stout at least as a seasonal. Or maybe our Porter should be in cans... But haven't got either of these in next years plans - next year just hoping to brew more than one batch of Breakfast Stout to start :-) I hear you, just got to figure out how! We do have 3 new 60 BBL tanks coming next week, but they're already accounted for with Crikey and our seasonals. Cheers.

Well, I'd like this, too...But 'one ask at a time' is how I was raised.

It's just good to know you're working towards it. More than one batch of Breakfast Stout next year, cans of Breakfast Stout and Robust Porter after that, more great beer in better formats in general...Now that is an idea of progress that I, and even my namesake, can fully get behind. Cheers!

Any chance Reuben's BBBS will still be available somewhere this weekend?

Brouwer's still has some left over from their Big Wood festival, 4 oz pours are $3.

We should have BBBS on tap the rest of this month at the brewery - that's the plan at least. It's in bottles at a number of places but no draft made it out so far, we bottled as much as we could instead. Brouwer's had BBIS (Bourbon Barrel Imperial Stout) - confusing acronyms I know, sorry. Different malt bills and pretty different beers. Cheers!

Any bottles of BBBS left at the brewery? Hoping to swing by tomorrow afternoon for one.

I think Pike Entire deserves a mention, great BA stout for the price!

3 Magnets just released a Russian Imperial Stout, Kratovo, in bottles for the first time (IINM). T'is revealing itself to be a fine brew--soft and lush, nice bittersweet chocolate, hints of prune, and not at all over-roasted. Excellent company, in other words, for a rare Seattle snowfall this evening.

This looks to be a rotating beer for them from now on, and I understand bottles also made it down to Portland (Belmont and a handful of other places) if any of our Rose City neighbors are interested in giving it a try. It's a pricey bomber, but I've spent more for lesser beers.

(@distantmantra - Bottleworks had bottles of BBBS this evening and other places in your neighborhood may have them tomorrow. Just in case you find that Reuben's taproom is out.)

I bought my bottle at ABV Public House in Hillsboro. That's the only place I've seen it (so far), but I'm keeping my eyes open for more.

Tonight I opened a bottle of Alesong Rhino Suit, their bourbon barrel-aged blend of imperial stout and imperial milk stout.

Rhino Suit is rich and full-bodied with a luscious velvety texture. Nice roastiness and flavors of chocolate, caramel, and some coffee. Not too sweet. Nuanced barrel presence--not too much, not too little, and delicious notes of vanilla, oak, and coconut. (Not just the raw and hot bourbon flavors you find in some BA stouts.) Very well balanced. A lovely beer for a snowy night like this one.

Yes, it is expensive, but it is pretty damn terrific. I'd happily buy it again.

3 Magnets can do no wrong ... with their beers, at least.

Has anyone heard that they dropped their distributor and are now self-distributing? If that's what they want, more power to 'em, but living in Kirkland, I seldom see their beers anymore on the Eastside or at the north end of the lake. Does anyone else know more about this?

I didn't see any when I stopped at John's last Sunday.

Then again, it is EASY to overlook things at John's...

Got mine at Growler Guys, thanks to a tip from the staff. Agree it was a bit spendy at $16 for a 500 ML bottle, but it was a very tasty beer. Drank it down without any problem and then spent the next hour snoring next to the cat on the couch.

    Good times. :-)

I was at John's last week and didn't see any but snagged a couple MoaS and a very lonely Flanders Fred - plus a few other gems. Great store. I hit up either John's or Belmont Station whenever in PDX.

Yeah looks like I missed out on the BBA scotch ale. On the bright side, BBA Ten Fidy is at most of the shops, as is New Holland Dragons milk. For those of us that like BBA stouts in 12oz format, Dragons Milk is a winner. Really tasty and $4-$5 per bottle

Thanks for the tip @derftron. Silly question...is there two basic (looks like a bunch of varieties) new Holland dragon's milks. 1- being "ale aged in oak barrels" and 2 - "bourbon barrel stout" Did bourbon barrel stout replace the oak aged for the year round? Label change? I ask because my bro is hitting up total wine for me tomorrow and they have dragon's milk. The picture online shows the oak picture.
