Same here. That cocoa shines through in such an amazing way.

    Point taken.

Here are facts: They are getting very good at these silent releases! I was in and out with my bottles in about 30 minutes. A similar line length for the anniversary beer last year took nearly 2 hours! They are getting much more efficient on serving people!

Wanted to stay inside and finally try the new hoplab and wind swell but my kids were already getting impatient so went home..

Tried one of the bottles that night and its AWESOME! Love the very very slight burn you start getting as it warms that complements the overall experiences in such a fantastic way. Also getting it as very cocoa forward like a few other mentioned

I'm just going to come out and say it. Mexican Brunch is very good, but not stellar knock your socks off trade your first born amaze balls. Way over hyped in fact. I'm sure many will disagree, and that's certainly your right.

I honestly don't think it's better than Sunday Brunch. And quite frankly there's better examples of the Mexican hot chocolate inspired style out there. The ancho peppers impart a very subtle smokiness. So subtle it's barely there in more than the aroma. And as to heat, there really is none.

Don't get me wrong, I'm certainly not unhappy to have a few bottles. It's quite good, and I enjoyed it. But I've been seeing people over trade and over pay on FB. And some of the outrageous prices I've seen are lame. This beer is worth exactly what it cost. $18. per bottle. No more, no less.

Couldn't agree more with the bolded. I happened to have had Westbrook's Mexican Cake in the same week as Mexican Brunch's debut last year. At first, I thought the hot heat of the former had set up the latter for a shortcoming so it wasn't until I had it again in October that I realized it isn't there to the level you'd hope for and expect in the style.

Weirdly for some, but I happen to enjoy the series in reverse order with it being Evening Bell then Morning Bell then Sunday Brunch then Mexican Brunch for my tastes.

Seems like you like the base stout and the more they add in the less you like it.

everyone's personal tastes differ of course, but just for the record it's Molé inspired (or, more accurately, inspired by Molé inspired variants of beers we've done as one-offs in the past), the classical preparation of which most often includes Poblano (or Ancho, the dried version of Poblano) peppers. These are mostly mild and not hot, which is what we wanted from the beer. The beer is not supposed to have a hot pepper spiciness. The subtle smokiness and pepper aroma/flavor is what we wanted.

I've seen multiple people say the chilis are very subtle. Now correct me if I'm wrong but heat should build with age while coffee should fade. With that said I plan on cracking one tomorrow night and aging a few to see what it becomes. Also maybe do a side by side with a Sunday mole stout to see where it's at. As far as the series goes I'm a coffee ***** so morning bell might be my all time favorite and Sunday brunch is right behind it. This will be my first Mexican brunch experience so we'll see!!! Also noticed Kane's carb level on stouts/porters is so on point. I've gotten so many from other breweries that have almost zero head retention. Cheers to Kane for another successful release

I didn't see anyone getting back in line myself but a buddy told me that while chatting on line the guy in front of him admitted it was his 3rd time - he lived close by and would go home after each time. C mon man, you know he's either trying to sell it for a profit or makes multiple trades with so many.

I agree completely - I hope they will do all future releases this way. When they announced them aheadz of the release they had crazy lines starting in the middle of the night/early morning with lottsa drinking going on, then the online ANTEAD release which went bad for numerous reasons. Doing it this way means if you're paying attention and live within a resonable distance you'll get some.

Dick move and directly resulted guys like the BA who posted above that he missed out by ten minutes. Well he wouldn't have without people like that or if Kane had stamped hands like Cartin does.

Plus with so much great beer constantly coming out who needs 12 of these big bottles, even if you're trading. If everyone grabbed 1-4 bottles only think how much farther these releases would go.

The more additives thrown in, the less and less it tastes like beer and the more and more it tastes like the additives haha. Sometimes if I want a hot chocolate or an iced coffee, I'll just drink a hot chocolate or an iced coffee...

It really is horrible. But im not sure hand stamping would have worked in this case. If the person was going home between each run that can easily be washed off. I have noticed Hill Farmstead has started to require IDs for their big releases and I really think that is the only way to curb this. It will definitely slow the line down a lot but you will also not have people jumping back in line 3 times.

Anyone know if there are bottles of anything left for sale? I'd like to get some for gifts this week.

They had it until about 5:30 so in reality of you live in nj or even close to nj and really wanted it you could have got it.

The online ANTEAD release was so much better than the 4 hour line from the year before, it's not even funny.

I like the silent releases. But the ANTEAD BPT was fine to. Either way, you win some you lose some. Which is fair.

With the smoothness of the silent releases recently, I would say that may be the way to go.

Agreed. My immediate thoughts are Sunday Brunch and Mexican Brunch (even more so) likely brought the same amount of people as the ANTEAD release would. Last year they had to close down the tasting room for a day because the parking concerns. With the silent releases, the crowds come through in waves allowing traffic/parking to take care of itself.

I guess the big concern is the 'leak'. It will be pretty obvious that the barrels are MIA which will lead to huge lines in preparation for the silent releases once the news breaks.

Also in regards to the 4 hour line -- Probably would be a 45 minute line now that they have grown WAYY more efficient now!
