There are only a few days left in autumn. I guess I need to drink those beers down.

Channeling my inner @bowzer4birdie in saying I'm sure Jack's Abby won't view a pic of their beer as invasion of privacy .

Kidding aside, congrats and sounds like exciting times for you, enjoy the beer .

Ok, practicing my preaching (though that term is a bit strong):

Picture of the Blue Mountain Kölsch 151, a beer that I only have a straight rating for and haven't had in a while. Time to correct the latter while enjoying a bit of a throwback.

Before you ask, I have no idea why the lights are turned down so low .

From the Veil Brewery in Richmond? It is hard to get their stuff. A line forms every Tuesday when they release new brews.

I have been to the brewery twice and sometimes they are almost out of drafts even.

If I can find the article in the RTD, I will forward it if you want.

Thanks to a cheap multi-tool knife I stumbled across at the dollar store, I now own a corkscrew. Which means...

...I can finally drink this beer! Took a bit more work getting the cork out than I expected, but this smells so good that I don't really mind, especially since it seems like my previous attempts didn't mess up the carbonation or anything (no beer eruption or flying corks, no flat beer... everything seems normal.)

As mentioned above, this stuff smells really good. Almost entirely raspberry, smells pretty sweet also, though I occasionally pick up a hint of sourness in the background. It's also very dark in color, purplish-red (even the foam on top is pinkish), and surprisingly opaque. The taste is a good bit more tart than the smell right away (good news as I was almost worried this would end up being too sweet), but still definitely packed full of raspberry. Actually not nearly as sour as some of the other sour beers I've tried -- though it isn't the least sour "sour beer" I've had, either; seems to have more sour to it than Otra Vez and definitely more than that gross Sam Adams cucumber gose from this summer's variety pack. Of course, I have heard that the Lindemans lambics do tend to be on the sweeter side, so that's probably not surprising. It's light and fizzy and pretty much impossible to just take little sips of -- my first "sip" took out a quarter of the glass! Leaving some really nice trails of foam along the sides, too. While the sourness and raspberry are definitely the primary flavors here, it does seem like I'm starting to pick up a faint hint of something else in the background -- I want to say maybe a slight woody sort of thing. Not entirely sure, though, it's hard to pick out over the huge amounts of sweet-and-sour raspberry going on. Near the end of the glass it's coming through a little clearer; definitely getting a woody impression from it. It's a nice flavor, mixes in and contrasts well with the others.

Really enjoying this one, even after all the trouble I went through trying to open it. I think I'll be getting more of these in the future.

Evening, friends. I just finished some notes on Stone's VA Brewery Prototype Unfiltered Enjoy By. It's quite good. It sure as hell doesn't *look* unfiltered (sad face), but I think I like it better, overall, than the normal Enjoy By all the same. In case anyone is curious . . . https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/147/202078/?ba=fmccormi#review
