    You referring to me?

No anger, just expounding the contrarian view. Someone's gotta do it.

In line at 4:55, beer in hand at 5:30. New record.

Easy and good release after last week's crap. I'm confident that Pineal is at least as good as the collabs.

From an Instagram friends story it looks like the sample beer is "Happy Holidaze"

not really though. These Tired Hands threads are filled with people making the same old complaints. The beer is too expensive, all the beer is the same, my growler exploded and a piece of shrapnel killed my dog, Jean is arrogant, etc. Everyone has heard the contrarian point of view over and over, we get it.

Can finally be that guy, showed up at 620, no line, full allotments. pretty sure these beers will taste that much better because of this. also happy holidaze was nice, Nelson ipa, pungent and grassy. unfortunately only for the staff now, not going on tap.

I liked Happy Holidaze. It was pretty sweet and reminded me of a candy but I can't place which one.

I'm drinking an Oblivex now and it's a lot like the Grassman cans from this summer (which is great), just a little stronger. It has a particularly strong smell.

Except that a new thread gets started every month (I don't get the point of this). If someone was new to BA, craft beer in general, or just the area, they'd think everything involving Tired Hands is perfect and amazing unless someone occasionally dares to point out when the Emperor isn't wearing any clothes. Even if someone new searched the database, the original lengthy TH canning thread referenced in the OP no longer actually exists. I believe locked threads eventually get purged.

It's not like I go out of my way to comment every time someone praises Tired Hands. I jumped into this thread originally to respond to two posts I felt couldn't go unchallenged. One stated the merits of muling and reselling beer. The other implied that a beer is tasting good because it has a large amount of trub in the bottom of the can (rather than in spite of it).

These are issues I would argue with no matter what brewery was being discussed. And again, if it's repeating old debates then that's fine because I wouldn't want some noob to think those opinions are universally accepted.

Interesting. The place near where I live, which is 2 hours from Tired Hands and has a permanent Tired Hands rotation always gets the "line taster beer" the week after the can release (seriously, it's 100%). So I wonder if for the first time I won't see it? I do love the sound of Nelson, Pungent and Grassy.

All of those things are still true every month. Their prices are a joke. I find most of their beers average. I want the first batches of alien church back. Those were awesome. They are awful at admitting any wrong doing. So they are points that are redundant but should be repeated but what do I know. They still sell out of their average (to me) beer every week at an inflated price.

You mean it doesn't taste different when a visiting brewer stands near the kettle and takes a picture?

The most recent batch of Punge doesn't taste right to me. The draft version was fine, but the cans have a sweet booziness to them and there's an almost bubblegum flavor. That last batch had huge pineapple & citrus upfront and I barely get that at all from this one.

I picked up on that as well. This was my first time drinking this beer so I have no 'baseline' to compare it against. I split my can with my wife and she was in the process of drain pouring the last few sips (she couldn't even finish 8 ounces!?!) when I stopped her and I drank those two sips of beer. The beer was not a drain pour IMO but it certainly was not great either.

    Cheers!

Agreed. It's getting harder and harder to get in line now, wait up to two hours, and pay top dollar for beers that I've never had before or have had before but can't be sure how they'll taste this time around. The recent double peach milkshakes is what did it for me. Less than 2 weeks out and "WTF is going on in my glass?". That was a fun line to wait in to pay $24/4pack. Nah Jean... Nah...

I think I said this earlier, but the flavor I was getting was Old English/St. Ides. That huge boozy sweetness reminded me of malt liquor.

I would be willing to bet this was the most expensive 'malt liquor' that you ever drank.

Did you try drinking from the can wrapped up in a brown paper bag? Maybe that would improve your enjoyment of this batch of beer!?!

    Cheers!
