Friends from out of town are coming over; Mrs. Z has had us cleaning all afternoon! Appetizer in the oven and wife in the shower...quick beer before the guests arrive:

First. just heard the news about John Glenn's passing on my way home from work this evening....95 years old....one of the original Mercury astronauts and first US man to orbit the earth in 1962 aboard Friendship 7....amazing man and senator from Ohio for many years....RIP Mr. Glenn, you really did have the "Right Stuff" - GodSpeed sir!

Got a large box waiting for me from New Belgium, they had a bunch of glassware on sale on their webstore, for $1 / glass (hey Lingenbrau!)...so 8 new glasses to add to the Viking Sailor collection!

On to the beers!

You know you area has SUCKASS distribution when you have to drive 50 miles north to another state to buy something that should be in a store a half a mile from your house. Also, have a bottle shop manager that won't follow up with said distributor when something doesn't come in that he was told was coming. One example below, even brewed in my state. But I'm not bitter!

Yeah that is one of my go to beers. Some batches are a bit better than others but never had one I thought was as low as 3. Glad you are enjoying it. Next time try their Mosaic. Also quite tasty. Cheers.

 

Enjoy by 12/25 with steak for dinner. I don't it looks, the beer tastes awesome.

And I raise my glass to the legacy of John Glen, what a loss today and an important historical icon for space exploration. ('Wish I had a space themed beer to raise in your name, Mr. Glen. )

 

Did a nice little hike in the CNM today, snow still there, and a little bit colder today. Tasty brew, but there are other Tangerine IPAs out there that are tastier. Still going through the Led Zep stuff.

So we lost Greg Lake, John Glenn and John Lennon 25 years ago today. F'up day I'd call it. So I crack this Proclamation brew in their honor. And play this beautifully written tune. Cheers.
