I buy a stupid amount of BA beers around Christmas time.

If you ever want to trade (and I don't do the "you've gotta overpay to trade with me" stuff), hit me up. I have easy access to all Surly stuff, as well as other Minnesota beer (Indeed, Fulton, Summit, Schell's).

I have a Prairie Christmas Bomb specifically reserved for Xmas morning! I'm surprised the thing lasted in my fridge this long!

This. It starts with BCBS release and escalates until my debit card begins to exhibit a festive glow around Christmas. I'm able to hide the expense among the rest of the seasonal shopping to minimize red flags for end of year financials.

Mine would have been Utopias, but I crapped out in the Kroger drawing. I did get a Lizard of Koz and a Delirium Noel, which I have half a mind to mix together just for the hell of it.

Bad week/month for me sitting here looking at 5 different Prairie variants, BA Legion aged in MaCallan, BBCS, BA 1050, beer my daughter muled from OK over Thanksgiving, plus some KBS from earlier this year that TW was selling. And still I have been running all over Houston looking for High Westified. Wife handed me the Amex tonite and said "sort that out".

Saved up a couple big beers for the holiday season: Prairie Christmas Bomb!, Stone Wootstout, Third Coast Old Ale, and Adam from the Wood.

I've started a tradition of getting myself a case of BCBS every year. Hope I can keep that going!

My gift to myself...will be finally opening the 2013 Half Acre Quakerbridge Barleywine gifted to me by the owner after our 6 month stay in Chicago way back when... I became a regular, and he was nice enough to do that. Will be either a) pretty dead, or b) a malt bomb. Either way... I'm cracking it on Xmas eve.

I think the best bet is to shop your local stores and see what goodies they have. You would be amazed at all the cool deals you could find or gift sets. A lot of times you never see them unless at the actual store so just check around your local area.

I know I am going to buy a bunch of cool beers and sample them thru the holidays. Great time of year to sit out with a fire pit and awesome beers, etc. Leaning towards strong dark beers, love my stouts and coffee style beers so excited to have time off work and consume....
    Cheers

Well, my cellar has grown by a box and a half over the past month. A large reason for that is beer exchanges at work, but regardless, I probably won't be picking up much of anything else for the holidays. I did get a bottle of 9 Ladies Dancing that I'll have sometime over my four-day Christmas weekend. My training group runs an infamously hilly route a few days before Christmas, so I'll probably crack into my Xocoveza Charred after that, with a regular Xocoveza for comparison.

I have one of those huge bottles from Anchor Brewery to share with my dad on Christmas. We host a little brunch for family, so it'll be the table beer. If sharing this with him is anything like sharing the other bombers of the past, it means he'll have one glass and I'll be left up to finishing it. Oh boy.

It looks like you have already made your gift to yourself, but for future knowledge I would recommend indeed (rum king is a very good option that usually releases in October), steel toe, and fair state as far as Minnesota breweries. Also, I know prairie distributes to CA but if your pricing there is as high as it was in Iowa (and now Oregon for me) it may actually be cheaper to order from France. Bomb is 5.99 there, and the variants are 8 I think...which was half the price as Iowa. I usually shipped rather than buying locally if I bought in decent quantities it saved me money oddly enough

Won't be buying anything else between now and Christmas (well maybe some High-Westified  ) because this...
Plus I've got a small collection (9 or 10 bottles) of higher gravity stuff I've been accruing over the past year or so, including Central Waters BA Barleywine, BA Dragon's Milk, Lawson's/Otter Creek Double or Nothing, and Founders Curmudgeon.

I bought a bottle of Rodenbach Alexander. I may get something else before Christmas...seeing that I've already consumed the Alexander.
