From last night @ shep and knucklehead

    ANTEAD X2
    SB
    Mosaic DH Overhead X2
    Party wave
    Windswell (Flight)
    Hop lab Amarillo (Flight)
    Malus (Flight)
    Solitude(Flight)

When I left around 11, SB, and Mosaic was kicked but ANTEAD was still pouring. What a decadent treat ANTEAD was. Lot of smoke, char, burnt wood, vanilla, cocoa, boozy bourbon burn with creamy texture. I am not a huge stout drinker but that mouth feel is what makes me drink heavy stouts. But I still think Perennial Abraxas on draft is the best stout for me so far and.ANTEAD is close second.

SB was great but drinking after ANTEAD wont do any justice to it. I dont like cinnamon but it was weirdly nice with coffee.

Apart from those, Mosaic DH overhead was insanely good. I didnt care much about others. But definitely need to revisit party wave and wind swell.

Don't mean to nitpick, but Abraxas has a good dose of cinnamon. Anyways, seeing as though the mouthfeel is key, and keeping it Jersey local, you ever have Holy Nights?

Also, I'm not comparing ANTEAD to Holy Nights, as they are completely different takes on a stout; the mouthfeel on Holy Nights is like delving into an Ice Cream float: thick, creamy, subtle booze...if my memory serves me correctly

Yes! Holy Nights, might be my favorite non barrel stout. Love that beer so much.

One of the very few beers I've ever rated a perfect 5. Would love to have that one again!

Is Holy Nights the adjunct Silent Nights? I hate coconut so never gave it a fair shot.

There is definately a personal preference factor at play. So, ya, the disclaimer is: you might find it gimmicky, or may not be in the mood for an ice-cream float/smoothie

As a follow up to @zeuiax, no promises, but the mouthfeel and tactfull abv awareness is appreciative

@M-Fox24 thank for Holy nights. Abraxas is what got me into decadent high abv stouts. Yes it has cinnamon but that texture and mouthfeel is insane. It was like taking a bite of a vanilla, chocolate, cinnamon cookie.

Well the expansion helps because it gives an organized and dedicated space to handle the release that they didn't have in 2014. Lines were cris crossing each other and nobody knew what the hell was going on.

It was moving the line behind the facility, rather than though the front door/front bar/back bar tasting area, that made things more organized in my opinion. They started doing that before expansion happened. And prior to it, they would just set the tables up in the back of the tasting area by the truck bay doors.

I like it better now for sure. But I feel it has less to do with the expansion, and more to do with the experience of Mike Kane and his team. They got better at releases, figured out better systems, better ways to manage and move the line. A big room in the back is no substitute for the fact that it's a few years later, and Kane and team get better each successive release. That's one thing I love about them. There's a kaizen like approach happening there.

They are using the expansion space in the back. I'm confused as to why you aren't getting this.

Oh crap. I'll bet consensus is Citra Pale Ale, I'll go on a limb and say canned stout. Holy Nights in a can, internet broken.

I hate to say but I'm kind of saddened by this. Kane kind of stayed away from the hype game and now it seems they are diving right in. I think I remember talking about in the past how we thought Kane would never be a silver can and sticker brewery. I guess if they keep them unannounced though we will still be safe. I just never want to see it turn into OH or tired hands line BS.

I am one of those people that thought they would never sticker a can. But at the end of the day I think it does make sense. They invested in a canning line and it makes sense they would take advantage of it. I really dont think it will be like OH or Tired Hands, I kind of think it will be like Carton.
