Yes, starting Jan. 14, 2017 the predominant retailer of Pennsylvania which is called a Beer Distributor will be able to sell 6-packs and even single bottle. But since those retailers have beers in their inventory (presently) that is older than 1 month I really do not see much happening from a beer freshness perspective. I really hope that I am in error here but...

The fundamental problem, as I see it, with the beer distribution supply chain is that since there are multiple parties involved, brewery -> Wholesale Distributor -> Retailer, there will take some time for the beer to get from the brewery to the end customer. For some reason this supply chains seems to be working more efficiently in North Carolina than my home state (or perhaps my region of Pennsylvania). The best that I can say here is:

    Cheers to you!!

I'm originally from Upstate NY, and spent a lot of time in PA. The use of the term "distributor" for "beer store" has always confused me. Do your "distributors" buy directly from breweries, or do they buy from what the other 49 states call "distributors"? And, what is PAs term for the company that carries beer from breweries, then sells and delivers it to stores?

No for hoppy stuff. For great BA beers probably so.

    The terms that I use:
    • Wholesale beer distributors purchase the beers from breweries and resell them to retailers
    • Retail beer distributors sell beer to end customers
Retail beer distributors are not the sole retailers of beer in Pennsylvania but they are the predominant beer retailer (especially outside of the Philadelphia and Pittsburgh metropolitan areas).

    Cheers!

TH beers are good but I wont wait in a line for them or any other beers.
Really.....great news.....my beer distributor a;ready does this with limited and expensive large bottles and also sells gift packs. When the list for popular beers is large they sell 4/6 packs to those on the list rather than give 2-3 people a full case......works well. This will be even better since I can see many beers made into singles and will sell well.

    Enjoy

    It is isn't it.

The neighbors in Waterbury complained and Alchemist moved to another location. Here Tired Hands IMO promotes and encourages this crap. It's kinda sad IMO. They could shut it down if they wanted to, but they obviously want this , frees ads to lines waiting for their beers. Not interested, I can't believe the neighbors don't complain about this stuff.

If we had had chairs when we went to ithaca we would not have tasted as much beer in the line, in the snow, in the morning.

Indeed, sometimes waiting in line is the best part of the day. Back in the day it was a much looser scene and it has gotten progressively worse in some ways at releases as secondary market mules become a large part of it.

But there is so much great, fresh beer easily available the idea of waiting on lines is over for me.

Unless Ithaca releases LeBleu again, anyway..

Born Yesterday is better than any local beer I had this year and Lagunitas was able to get it on shelves within 10 days. I know this is a one off and who knows whether they could do this on a regular basis. Other than this beer, I never buy non-local IPAs any more.

Well let me tell ya a story:

When I did our Annual Beer tasting in News Jersey, I had ordered our Spanish beer from Wine Works in Marlton, NJ and had the beer at the store within 2 and a half weeks. I really think that was awesome as considering Hunterdon had to get the beer directly from B. United in Connecticut. Not too bad from doing all this in my office in Wyoming! (Yet it took my TWO months to even get a reply from a store in reference to special ordering beer from B. United in Montana!)

Someone on instagram said they saw a guy kicking chairs into the street for today's strawberry milkshake release.

    Very reliable source

I'd love to go outside and stack up all the chairs if I was part of the brewery staff.

    Sorry, no....

If I show up to a release and there are empty chairs, I'm bypassing every one of them until I come to an actual person. Behind said person is my spot in line.

What if the person you were behind was standing behind a bunch of empty chairs?

I understand where you are coming from, but by your own logic, I hope you wouldn't have to shit or piss while standing in line.

You don't see a difference between leaving the line for 5 minutes and leaving for 5 hours?

Someone who lines up behind empty chairs, has the same IQ as one. So is fair game to be passed as well.
