Exactly this.. I would have breezed right past those chairs to the front of the line and not felt the least bit bad... I probably would have folded them all up and thrown them in the damn street for being so douchey about it... Chairgate would not exist with me around... It would have been:

Chair owner: "Wahhhhh! You broke line!"...

    Me:

Zowee! (Batman reference for you younger BAs)

Chair owner: "Where did my teeth go??????"

This picture makes me want to vomit....

I'd like to see the brewery staff, looking at all the chairs lined up to the right, say "line forms to the left"!

Doing the Lord's work. Thank you kindly, kicker of empty chairs. If I ever meet you, I will gladly buy you a beer.

    The emptiness goes
well past the chairs, but there's too
    much good beer to care.

Actually, here in Philly, people try to put chairs and sometimes cones in "their" parking spot because it is near their house, especially if they cleared snow out of said spot, they'll be damned if they shovelled it for you to park there. I see that this chair reservation system has now extended to the beer world.

Just like I don't respect the chair reservations on my street, I would walk right by the chairs at Tired Hands.

They do that in Jersey as well. I think you have to respect the parking spot. Particularly after 8+ inches of snow.

The line chair I will not respect.

It isn't like i didn't clear the spots in front of my house. I do. And if somebody takes them while at work, oh well. What am I supposed to do if the only spot on my street is occupied by a chair? Not park there on account of some hypothetical douchebag who may or may not show up? Park 3 blocks away in the closest spot without a chair? Unload my groceries from 3 blocks away because your chair is in a spot close to my home?

What i want to know is, does anybody see any fights over people like me not respecting the chair and getting caught in the act by the chair owner (at Tired Hands; not Philly street parking on snow days)?

How does that get resolved? Would love to see a youtube video of an altercation at Tired Hands just for some laughs...

In Boston it often gets resolved by the offending car getting all of its tires slashed. That said, some towns have passed ordinances about how long you can "claim your space" since there were people trying to leave their cones out until May.

Maybe there are some ideas for breweries in there somewhere.

I get that people dont like it, but I've had fun waiting in lines. I have met some cool people, talked and learned a lot about beer and local spots, and traded with people for stuff I would not have tasted. I stood in the tree house line, which was super fast, but traded for a few other tree houses beers I wouldn't have tried.
