Nemesis 09 is not doing too well these days but I've had a couple sweet reputes recently and they were both outstanding bourbon maple bombs. I'm wondering where this mint came from...I will say this, if you have it again give it a hard pour.

I'm a wheat wine and founders fan boy though so I'm probably biased

I've got to say that the 15 pack cans (besides All Day)is a great addition this year! Azacca IPA is a solid beer and how often can you get a solid, 7% IPA for just over a buck a can (or bottle)???

Mosaic Promise is also a great rendition of a single hop, single malt beer and I'll defintely be picking up a few of these as well!

A founders rep told me CBS for sure at the end of 2017 and They did age Sumatra brown in barrels but no clarification if it will be bottled.

I can't like this enough. BB sumatra mountain brown is one of the greatest beers they have ever made, I would be thrilled to taste this again

Can we not blame the "females drink fruit beer" thing here? Aside from that actually being completely inaccurate, a brewery the size of Founders isn't going to determine the direction of their barrel program based on the happy hour crowd at their brewpub.

Well the data does suggest they are 10 % more likely, according to this article

"Women may like those beers, but none of the beers would be selling in those numbers if men weren’t drinking them too — that means you, Bud Light Lime and Lime-A-Rita drinker. Women account for 28% of all beer drinkers and about 37% of craft beer drinkers, according to Nielsen, but men are just as likely to drink cider as women are, and only 10% less likely to drink a flavored (i.e. fruity) malt beverage. With that in mind, here are 10 fruit-filled, gender-unspecific beers for the gentlemen out there who feel a bit insecure in their manhood whenever something from a tree or vine is mixed with ingredients from a hop or barley field:"

    "Can we not"?

    No, we can't.

Honestly, they have greater spending power than we do. They buy our beers for us, they prefer sweeter beers in general (not mine personally, but the large majority of less intense beer consumers who aren't extreme geeks like us), and they show up to breweries and bars with each other, in person, live, in concert, more often, than we shut in beer geeks do. We geeks who want the next hyped "spirit" emulating beer imaginable. Of which, once we get our fill, we tire of our beer tasting like bourbon, brandy, or vodka, and simply, with experience, go back to preferring beer that tastes well made.

Honestly, breweries are getting tired of the beer geek favorability. They intentionally produce limited quantities of the stuff we want, to keep the hype amongst the rarified beer geek crowd high. If we didn't have a once in a blue moon CBS type beer to rave about and tell all our lesser peers about, these breweries wouldn't have the reputation amongst us that they currently have.

They make way more money off of average occasional beer consumer than they do the extreme craft connoisseurs every day of the week.

Have another one. Beer geeks love to over think their influence and breweries marketing campaigns.

When you sort of statistically back the point I made while showing them in argument of said point....

37% of drinkers are 10% more likely to drink a fruit beer. Well then. BA Rubaeus here we come!

Yes! This! Never forget KBS release 2012 when this was last on tap. The best beer they had on that week!

I too am looking forward to this greatly. I was very impressed with the regular Sumatra Brown last year.

I actually really liked Lizard of Koz. Not my favorite beer of all time but definitely enjoyable. I actually thought the concept of the blueberries followed by the vanilla/chocolate sweetness came through perfectly.

It's at least interesting to see a brewery experimenting with different flavors instead of just pumping out another barrel aged stout.

    Dear Founders,

If CBS happens to be on the list for 2017, please make it ticketed, a la KBS release.

Ticketed so I can get shut out. No thanks! Two years in-a-row I've been shut out! What they should do is give mug club members first crack at bottles like many other breweries do for special releases.

If you have never had it, the bourbon barrel version is in another league. I know I am a Founders fan boy but this was one of the most impressive offerings I have had from them.

Any word on Frootwood? I'm actually looking forward to trying this. Calendar release image shows a January-ish/February release. Website says February. Guess I go with that since my wallet needs relief.

I always like to try the new ones but did they have to waste all of those barrels for PAM? I didn't hate it but come on!

Has anyone ever thought of aging the s**t out of this? Wait a minute the liquor stores are already doing this for us! I sat 4 down for hopefully 2+ years. I think they will be a decent, high, ABV beer/barley wine.....?
