Saving beers for Christmas? I might drink one or two of my current collection Christmas night, but I don't really like to taste new beers for the first time with family (I don't have an abundance of cash flow, so I tend to drink most things once, so I can experience as many beers as possible. Spread it around a bit.). I like to study and enjoy the beer. Holiday with family just doesn't seem the right environment. I've got a signature cocktail. Gonna make fresh hot chocolate, and I've got some spirits to spike it with. Might try the Pirate Bomb! once I get home. And, one of the sours in the fridge. Maybe the Prairie 4th Anniversary Ginger Sour?

I think your are right on most of this. u don't want to try new beers on big days, but you do want beers that will rock the socks off YOU & others if you are sharing. Which You Always Should. Getting that LIST together for me is all the fun. obviously we only SAVE beers that can be aged/saved, not like IPAs, but stouts & barleywines.

Saved up doesn't necessarily mean it's brand new, just what you're pulling from the cellar/closet/garage/storage unit/fridge/cave/attic/basement/chest/porch bombs...

For me it does. Usually. I do have two more BCBS's, but I'm not touching those til May and November.
