Beer Karma. Is it back?

Mine has gone from 463 to 358 to 856 in the course of 3 days.

This is like playing the market - while drinking beer!!! Count me in!!!!!

 

At this point the new beer karma system means nothing to me and it might as well not even be there if it is this off. I went from 199 to 197 to 0 in a matter of days, and before it went away I had in the 300-400's. I have 650+ beers with over 500 reviews, and 750+ posts. Why so low? It's all good though, like I said it basically means nothing to me at this point, so whatever. I can take it or leave it. Cheers!

 

Will the points breakdown be posted so we see how our points are accumulated?

 

Why not just go back to the most recent beer karma system where every point came from a listed action? (sorry if this has been discussed. I looked at the other beer karma thread and I'm still a little unsure about the new system)

It's cool to see it go back to it roots, I kind of missed the titles and the glass icons that went next to them.
Either way it's cool to see it back. And that while the site moves forward it changes with the times, but will also look back on what worked in the past and revert to that, too, if even in a modified version.

I wasn't around here for the antedulivian karma system but as a member of the most recent (Pre-July 2016) incarnation, I agree with @jhartley, it's cool to see it back. At least for me, some time of competition or scoring system certainly makes it more interesting. Not that it REALLY matters - some of us keep showing up even without it and as long as I'm still advocating for beer and my liver holds out, I'll be here.

 

I am pleased that some version is present. I am trained and work in physics. I am accustomed to Not understanding how many systems work, but still appreciate them.

 

I also remember the glass icons, I liked them.

Glad to see it back, and glad to hear that it's more weighted to overall site contribution rather than heavily on forum posts/likes. Reviewing beers, adding beers, places, pictures, etc. is what makes the site more useful.

Yeah, it changed right after my comment. What I don't like is how we don't know how the points are received and accumulated. There is no scientific or mathematical equation. Before we could see where every set of received points came from, like rating 500 beers, adding 5 beers, getting 1000 likes, etc.
