Is that the one they describe as "juicy" on the can? They need to stop doing that...

It's a total do over, now haze for days and a total juicy hop bomb. IMHO it may very well be the best of this style in large scale distribution, my local WFs has bombers for around $7.

    Check it out

    Cheers

No, and it's only in bombers. I like it.

I opened up a can of MFCL Double IPA I found in the back of my fridge the other night and while it lost some aroma and flavor, it still was excellent at nearly 3 months old. For some reason I find that Treehouse drops off pretty quick but Monkish hops seem to hang on a while.

I have my Monkish rule, cans and growler fills all benifit with time unlike traditionally made west coast IPAs.

    Cheers

Stopped by Monkish around 9:30... no line and I got my blue teku still.

I guess at some point yesterday they started up a growler station near the jug of water according to my friend.

Were they still filling growlers of Death at that time?

Didn't ask... the board still had fills listed but my buddy who had been earlier said that they were only filling Shaneal.

i think im the only one that though gift of death kinda sucked. Zero body and extremely sweet. Sweetness overpowered any barrel presence and vanilla was light

Drove by at noon. Saw the line, went to Smog. No one there so I got a growler of The Nothing.

Smog City has some awesome stuff on right now. Cuddlebug was crushable stone fruit awesomeness and Bourbon OE and The Nothing were both tasting great. Not to knock the product at Monkish, it's great beer, but the hype machine is out of control.

I love both places equally. I agree the hype machine is out of control.

Just killed a growler of SO today. After having a can of La Schmoove two days ago, I'll say SO definitely had more flavor and a better aroma for me. LS seemed very muted in hop flavor and didn't offer much in the nose either. Thinking people who aren't really a fan of IPA's may like La Schmoove more, whereas people who truely enjoy hops would like the more punchy SO. Just, like, my opinion man

I definitely like Snuggle, but Cuddle never really did it for me. So many stone fruit sours that are done really well out there...

The Nothing was fantastic and OE is a great barleywine example. They had 4 Continents - a sour dry-hopped with 4 hops from around the world I presume - that was pretty funky.

They still haven't made a good BA sour though. Hope they nail that soon.

IIRC, Bisous was aged in wine barrels and it was fantastic.
