Beer Karma. Is it back?

Beer Karma now seems like something they do for themselves that has nothing to do with us.

So our beer karma points now will affect our beer lives in the future? Interesting. Thanks for the lesson on karma. Apparently we are all Hindu and Buddhists too. You learn something new every day.

 

I believe you, and further more I appreciate all you guys do. Being around for 20 years, all the while maintaining a status of most the respected website (my judgement) for all things beer is something to be proud of. A few years ago, I used Ratebeer more often, but I haven't visited their website for some time now (I can't remember that last time I did), in part because it's clear to me that your philosophy has a broader vision of how to meet the wants and needs of beer connoisseurs of all types.

It's been awhile since I have taken the time and effort to post a lengthy reply; and I think it's because it is frustrating for me to read all of the negativity about what you guys are doing. Keep on keepin on!

 

My two cents: mysticism is overrated -time to get drunk and celebrate paganism, coca cola's ad campaign and pregnant virgins

 

Having a ratings system, yet not revealing the formula, I think will be a key differentiator for Beer Advocate. I recall reading an article in the magazine some time ago about how gaining points on some of the other competing websites for reviewing, or hell, just drinking beers, would gain you points, and consequently status, in the craft beer world - and how this really cheapens the whole craft beer scene. How true. While this may or may not be what Beer Advocate's old karma system was like as I never really paid much attention to it, I do not recall - but major kudos to them for once again elevating the art of craft to the level it deserves to be!! Cheers!!

 

Oh, and by the way sir, please give me some karma sir, for that post sir...!!! Just kidding!!!
