Kicking off this morning with a Fierce: Peanut Riot. I love peanuts but it's not very good. It was a present from my brother though and it's the thought that counts!

[IMG] Winding down the Christmas break but gearing up for another nice stretch of time off pre-New Year. Weather is nice and chilled today so starting off with something roasty - 6 Grain from Foundation (ME).

Happy day after Christmas, Advocates. I'm planning to do nothing but lounge around in pajamas, watch some more Christmas shows & movies, and help the kids put together any toys they need me to. Oh, and maybe drink some beer.

Good Morning BA, have a great Monday and Boxing day! Going to be a pretty busy day out there for shopping. I've seen some good deals online as well. I was up most of the night on my new gaming PC I received yesterday as a gift from my parents. Played Unreal Tournament 3 for a few hours to give it a test run. I am using an old monitor/LCD that was lying around. I will probably buy a nice monitor on Newegg today, I saw some 40% off deals on quite a few off them.

Still tasting great! Flavors of grapefruit, peach, pineapple, passion fruit, papaya, tangerine, mango, melon, berry, lemon zest, orange peel, citrus rind, and pine hops; with some light honey, wheat, bready malts; and herbal/floral/grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine/rind/grassy bitterness on the finish. Medium bodied; balanced grainy malt and sticky/resins in the mouthfeel. Crisp/dry finish, and never astringent on bitterness. Awesome juicy hop profile, and refreshingly drinkable. Mosaic and Equinox hops are my favorite of all time. I am finally starting to feel this one drop off, but I still really love it at the moment. Just tastes a bit more piney/weedy than when it was fresh. When this is super fresh it is the #1 best IPA I've ever had.

Outstanding as always, glad the Dark Horse stouts are back in season. Flavors of milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, coffee, toasted dark bread, and light smoke/char malt; with moderate juicy/lightly tart blueberries. Balanced bittersweet creamy/silky medium-full body finish; bit of chalky roast and fruit acidity as well. Lightly drying from roast. More pronounced fruit in the nose, but still a nice amount in the taste. Very well balanced. Love this stuff every year. This is still probably the best fruited stout I've ever had. Always a go-to favorite, I buy it all the time.

Got a 6 pack of this for Christmas. Great DIPA. Flavors of peach, pineapple, apricot, mango, melon, papaya, tangerine, citrus peel, light pepper, and pine hops; with moderate honey, lightly toasted bread malt sweetness; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine/rind/spicy bitterness on the finish. Medium-plus bodied; balanced grainy malt creaminess and sticky/resinous hops in the mouthfeel. Increasingly drying and resinous. A bit of lingering hop astringency near the end of the glass; but not overwhelming. Very drinkable; a small lingering warmth of 8% alcohol. Really loved this one. Very vibrant and tropical on the hop notes; nice malt backbone but never too sweet.

2015 is tasting amazing as usual. Huge flavors of caramel, raisin, cherry, fig, date, apricot, apple, toffee, brown sugar, brown bread, bourbon, and toasted oak; with light notes of molasses, vanilla, and coconut. Balancing bourbon/oak spiciness on the finish against the sweetness; minimal warming or barrel booziness.. Very smooth sipping; with a very creamy, silky, and slightly slick/syrupy full body mouthfeel. Love this the most after at least 1 year of age to smooth out the boozy notes. Still some more packs on the shelf at the moment, even with the new 2016's around. Already bought more a couple weeks ago, I was down to 1 bottle in the whole cellar. Been drinking this too often I guess.

    Cheers

[IMG] The best way to get rid of the cobwebs. I absolutely love this beer, I know some have said it is more cinnamon and nutmeg flavored than last year, I think it is liquid happiness! I still have tomorrow off also. Cheers

Nothing like left-over Chinese takeout to start your day!
    Happy Kwanzaa/Boxing Day/St Stephen's Day!

AMC is going to air all five seasons of Breaking Bad, starting at noon today. Now, there's something to keep a person busy for the next four days.

Good morning BAS! Well, for all you Xmas survivors, I hope your beer dreams came true!
The rain and warm temps are washing away the remaining snow. And to top it off, the Stillers actually won yesterday - I quit watching after halftime because every time I watch, they lose. Of course, part of the time I don't watch, they lose. Today's breakfast beer is a favorite of mine:

Last trip to TX I was at JK when it was released and was able to buy a case. It will be interesting to see how it changes with their new brewmaster.

    Prosit!

An impressive Monday morning of posts! Cool and drippy, but a beer (and a fire) will warm me up:

Mrs. Z will shortly go downtown for the "day after" shopping w/ her step-mom. Fortunately I'm staying behind to clean the lodge and pack the RV for tomorrow's travel. My magic bones tell me there is beer in my future:sunglasses::rolling_eyes: Cheers from Wadmalaw Island, SC!

A quiet moment after my morning run and a couple of chaotic days of entertaining where I decided to put the phone down and enjoy the moment. It felt quite liberating! A very wet and gray day around here that feels more like April than late December. I'm going to dry off a chair, sit outside like it's April and drink this vintage 13 that surprisingly enough still has some solid coffee flavor hanging around. Making the best of a post holiday Monday!
