    While we haven't had "flop house" or "fake foilers foiled" level awesomeness (to my knowledge) I'm sure there's been some terrific threads this year that caused quite a bit of enjoyment in all, so what's been the best threads this year? Here's our chance to relive some pretty good community conversation moments.

    (sorry for not offering one myself, but my memory sucks.....)

    I do not even have to think about this question.

    Hands down my favorite thread for 2016 was “The 750 Saison” started by @zid.

    There was a tremendous amount of effort (and dollars) spent by Chris to maintain this thread.

    Kudos to Chris!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

    P.S. I also want to give a shout out to Maria (@utopiajane) and Dave (@cavedave) for maintaining the regular ongoing thread of New Beer Sunday.

    Shoot I can't think back that far but I enjoyed that one about the guy looking for suggestions on what beer to drink to celebrate his 3000th beer. He was 30 beers in that day alone. Good stuff! I love every thread here.

    Yes! I remember that. He probably went out and bought a power drill and screws because he be damned if he had to waste money on a corkscrew!

    I almost picked up a few of those bottles but put them back on the shelf when I saw the price. Yikes :slight_smile:. But, yeah, excellent thread overall!

    Michael, the thought of buying those beers never even crossed my mind. If I had one of those bottles in my hands and saw the price I would likely drop the bottle out of shock!:grimacing:

    This is why I homebrew!:slight_smile:

    I like @zid ' s threads too both the 750 saison and a barleywine for everyday. I thought there were plenty of good threads this year.

    and the top 60 beers on Ba are almost all stouts and imperial ales

    ^ those are even pretty recent a few of them.

    Ah yes thread of the year! I look forward to this every year as well, a great Christmas treat.

    However, I really seem to be drawing a blank. The Vermont flop house of yore is always a classic.

    It's recent in my mind and it's a good one, but I am going with Chairgate because that's just so absurd.

    I think he was serious about this. It's one of these threads that won't go down the memory hole.

    I happen to have been the bugger posting that video of a dude opening a bottle with his shoe, which triggered some debate. Cheers.

    Chairgate was good.

    The Anthony Bourdain one was also good. My memory doesn't really go back more than a few weeks.

    Thanks for the laugh in remembering that flop house thread. The thread I enjoyed (think it was this year) was the "Best Pilsner" thread. Im happy to see fellow lager lovers here on BA and glad to see everything isnt always about Hops or Imperial this and that.

    Forgive on two counts, for I missed most of 2016, and a certain thread being recent may impact my opinion, but:

    I think @zid 's threads focusing on different brews in the same style (e.g. "A Barleywine/Saison for every day") were really cool threads.

    New Beer Sunday, of course, is always awesome. :slight_smile:

    And finally, any get-together threads (mass online tastings, MST3K viewings) are a nice emphasis on the community aspect here on BA.
