I think this is magnified by the fact that the brewery seems to be signing off on the whole chair thing. I genuinely don't think I would have a problem confronting the chair people, mostly because they aren't even there, and they would be arguing from a ridiculous position once they got back (and they are probably equally adverse to confrontation as the average person), but if the brewery supports it then I feel much less like I'm in the right.

I agree. Honestly if it wasn't for the chair stuff I would have considered going today, but the last collab release I got there at 3:45 and was all the way back on Lancaster ave. It is one thing if it were one chair one person, but people take advantage of it and it makes it impossible to know if you would even get beer after waiting.... really wish they would address it, but they won't. Also the people that leave chairs think they are in the right and the people anti-chair know they are just abusing the system.

1 4 pack of the triple IPA. Waiting for the instagram meltdown. People's chairs have been in line for over 5 hours!

Any line updates? Think I would have a chance at the triple ipa if I got there at 6?

660 allotments so you've got a chance. The line is long though.

Donut is on draft now. Any reports of how it tastes?

Woah, the guava IPA and donut IPA made it behind the bar but no mention of the Monkish Vienna lager.

I've tried the IPA's already and the donut one is a sweet spiced IPA. It reminds me of Carton's Pumpkin Cream Ale in the body but the spices are different and there is no pumpkin. The 11% abv is imperceivable. Creative Director has big guava flavor but is very frustratingly flat. The salt is nice and if this had carbonation it would probably be refreshing but it doesn't.

I made it. Tried the Director and Donut, liked em and then decided to get in line, pretty close to 7. Line was right outside the Ferm but still took 45 minutes - definitely the slowest moving I've ever experienced it, not sure why. Maybe non regulars in line this time?

I wish I came an hour later and just got this stuff from behind the bar.

How's the lager? It ran out while I was in line.

The donut ipa is pretty good. I'm digging it. Very sweet but I definitely unique. Have never had a beer like it.

The Mikkeler and the Donut are still available. Someone should have spared those poor chairs from the cold and just waited.

I'm tempted to complain to the town (or township) about the chairs. They make it impossible to tow a couple of kids down the sidewalk without either being too close to the street, or knocking into chairs.

I don't understand why they don't just say, "no chairs before noon" and then open the doors at noon. Well actually, I do understand it, some of those chair-droppers will then head inside for some beer and food before the release, but they're being shitty neighbors to the other businesses. I shouldn't have to navigate a row of chairs to get my kids down the sidewalk safely.

Give it a rest already. Stop going to releases if it bothers you that much. You anti-chair people blow this thing so far out of proportion it's ridiculous

The topic of Tired Hands releases and chairs will never go away; folks just like to discuss this stuff.

Your 'solution' here is the proper response. I have never been to a Tired Hands release and I never will. For transparency I am personally not a fan of this whole chair line thing but what really keeps me away is that the concept of waiting in a line to buy beer is simply something I am unwilling to do.

I would suggest to other BAs who seem to be getting 'aggravated' about all of the stuff that is involved with these Tired Hands beer releases: stop going.

There really is lots of good beer to be purchased and consumed without having to wait in lines.

    Cheers!

There is no doubt lots of good beer.....but if you love the TH beers like I do, then it's wait or don't get any.....or get lucky like I did and catch some of them on draft for growler fills.

You don't have to get lucky to get growler fills though, just show up.

Yeah I think that's more for the ones that tap the same day as the cans when they only put one keg on and only every now and then are allowing growler fills. generally though yes they usually have awesome things on tap to just show up and get.

I wasn't at the release, I was just in Ardmore with my kids on Friday. The chairs impaired my ability to safely navigate the sidewalk with them. Maybe that's not a huge deal, but it matters a lot more than a fucking can of beer.
