Hello all. New to BA but not new to holy gospel of beer. Tomorrow morning we're having a small get together to watch an english premier soccer match. I'm planning on making French toast, sausage gravy and biscuits & eggs and bacon. My question is what schmorgesborg of beer styles should I line up? Thanks in advance.

I second rauchbier! Also, a good breakfast stout (does Founders get to your area?)

Edit: This is just hitting shelves, maybe someone could overnight it to you? :stuck_out_tongue:

Any coffee stout will be nice. Maybe a rauchbier.

    And Bloody Mary's.

Echo with Founders Breakfast Stout and if you're feeling pricey, Mikkeller Beer Geek Breakfast (or many variations) for delicious coffee foward flavorings.

Any coffee based porters or stouts.
    Founders Breakfast Stout, or Porter.
    Anchor Porter.
    Sierra Nevada Stout.

Also some wheat based beers would probably pair well with breakfast, especially fruit.
Any German Hefenweizen (I'm partial to Paulaner)
    Allgash White or Hoegarden.

    Perhaps a saison:
Pretty Things J'Dor, Saison Dupoint, Hennepin, ect...

Moose drool and pan cakes are an awesome combination. We do that every 4th of July.

    Stout is obvious.

A citrusy IPA (or "white" IPA) would work nice instead of OJ. IPA mimosas?

Thanks folks. I just happen to love Founder's Breakfast Stout and have some here. Great Divide's Chocolate Yeti is freaking awesome. I think we still have a bottle. I need to get all the ingredients for spicey bloody Mary because that would rule tomorrow! I'm looking around our stash for Rauchbeir....not finding. I'll inquire. Thanks again!

Deschutes Chainbreaker IPA would make for a good IPA Mosa. As for a good line up: FBS, Mikkellers Beer Geek Breakfast, Left Hand Milk Stout, and Dupont Saison with a fruit bowl as an after breakfast finish.

That's funny cause I was just at a wedding and us groomsman woke up every morning and drank Chainbreaker White IPA. It was the best breakfast beer I have ever had.

Had a Southern Tier Choklat on tap once with eggs benedict and french toast from a place by me that does a great brunch. Fantastic. I felt like a little kid with his chocolate milk and scrambled eggs.

Imperial Stout - Back East Brewing Company
    http://backeastbrewing.com/beer.html
Back East’s Imperial Stout is a full-bodied ale brewed with several varieties of dark roasted malt. It has a complex malt character with underlying hints of coffee and chocolate. A generous amount of English hops gives this ale a pronounced hop profile. This robust ale is unfiltered and bottle conditioned.
    ABV=10.5%

Otherwise, I may sound like a broken record to you: :grinning:
