    Belgian -
    saison
    dubbel
    tripel

    German
    Pilsner
    helles/premium lager/maibock
    dark lager

I was not trying to be deliberately vague int he German category. But the dark lager has at least 3 varieties that I drink and like similar to the pale lager. My first choices are never strong beers . The schwarzbier, the czech dark lager and the dunkel are all dark lagers. I excluded the dopplebock because it is not one of my first choices as it is a bit stronger. I consider it a special occasion or seasonal lager.

    Belgian:

    Lambic/Gueuze

    German:

    Kellerbier/Zwickelbier
    Rauchbier
    Hefeweizen

Ask me again tomorrow and it's bound to be different.

    Belgian:

    Lambic/Gueuze
    Quad
    Saison

    German:

    Hefeweizen
    Kellerbier
    Dopplebock

Was a close call in the German as I was thinking of putting Altbier instead of Dopplebock, but I have had very few actual Alts from Germany so I feel I still haven't fully grasped what the style should encompass.

Thank god there isn't ever a reason to only choose 3, but I'll play along.

    Saison
    Lambic

    German:
    Doppelweizen
    Doppelbock Dunkel

    Germany-
    Rauchbier
    Dunkles Bock
    Pale O'fest

    Belgium-
    Flanders Red
    Saison
    Gueuze

These are all based on pure pleasure, beers that make me happiest inside. Oddly enough, as I look over the list, none are really a style I would say I 'obsess' over; I have my faves in each that I could happily drink forever, yet they always satisfy (Schlenkerla, Rodenbach, Tilquin, etc,).

What do you think the odds of 2 BAers having the exact same lists?

It would suck to have only 3 of each!

    Therefore:

    Gueuze
    Saison
    Strong pale

    Pilsner
    Hefeweissen
    Göse
