So, I'm thinking about having an FBS for breakfast tomorrow and was wondering if any of you ever drink beer for breakfast. I'm talking about instead of coffee or tea and right after you get up in the morning. Haven't done that since my misspent youth (l'm 49 now). Not sure what the missus will say....hmmm.

I hear ya! I've had FBS for breakfast a couple of times. My wife would frown upon that, so I took advantage of one time she wasn't home and another she slept late. Hey - it does say BREAKFAST right on it

You know - some folks will have Mimosa with breakfast, so how is beer any different? Now, if you started doing shots, or doing wake-and-bake, that could indicate a problem...or college...

Tell her you're doing it for health reasons. Beer is more nutritious than coffee and doesn't leave you feeling jittery. While she googles all that you have time to finish your brew.

When we vacation in Florida, I have to go set up/reserve our spot on the beach every morning (otherwise commercial chair vendor gets all the spots close to the water). This usually entails getting up and being out there before 6am. My treat to myself is usually a VAS, Xocoveza or another dark high abv beer. Starts the day off proper.

I've had a few coffee stouts at breakfast time while on vacation. After having actual coffee first. But... it was one and done until much later in the day.

I can't imagine having a big beer for breakfast, unless going back to bed was an option after.

I never thought about the nutritional aspect of it before. Maybe I'll tell her it's part of my new ' getting healthy' regimen :stuck_out_tongue:

I enjoy a stout with brekfast, my gf usually tells me I have a problem though.

Vacation is fair game for drinking any time of the day, particularly without young kids in tow.

For me, beer or any form of alcohol is not something I even consider for breakfast. For me beer is something I look forward to when the day's work is done, For breakfast, I looking for something that will get me ready to suit up and fight the days battles.

    But that's just me.

If I was going to have some it would contain some coffee just because I love coffee, so any beer with coffee like a good stout would suite me well.
I am not one to care about time of day honestly. I see it as I am an adult, so long as I am not driving or working I don't really worry about the time I crack one. Honestly, here in the desert, I will wake on a Sat to do a ton of yard work and there have been times at 7am I am sipping a Corona or something lol. When its almost 100 out a cold beer just works any time.

Yep... I don't do it regularly but I will on Saturday or Sunday every now and then.... Sometimes coffee stouts but not always... A good fresh IPA is surprisingly delicious first thing...

I agree 99.9% of the time. Caffeine is more my thing in the morning. The couple times I had the coffee stout (once was DFH Beer for Breekfast) after my coffee was for the novelty and because I had a lazy day at home with nowhere to go.

@Trooperbob , if you check out the daily "what beer are you drinking now" threads, you'll see that kicking the thread off in such a fashion has become a routine of sorts... but if you're gonna ask this group if they ever drank a beer in a particular way, it's a safe bet that there will always be someone who has... it's not healthnutadvocate.

Yeah, I was browsing through that thread earlier but wasn't really paying attention to the time stamps. Now I feel like I have to have a beer in the morning just to feel like I belong . Any excuse ehhh...
