I have been watching the trade fourms about Lawson's Fayston Maple Imperial stout and not really seen anything about this beer on there. I would love to get it or the maple barrel aged bottle of this beer so i guess my question is what do these trade for and how offten are they traded? I would just like to know if i would have the ammo to land one of them. Thanks

I traded a KH for the regular Fayston Maple. I wish I had the KH back....

Just traded a bramble and BCBCS for a triple play, hopzilla, and a fayston maple. I believe both parties were happy.

There's another batch of the maple barrel version aging at the moment.

I just traded a Saint-Lamvinus for the Oak aged version, I can't wait to try it!

I've had the Bourbon, Oaked and the "regular" version together and thought the regular was the best. I don't think they should be too hard to trade for and I think there should be a lot of them available at the moment since they were on shelves at Hunger Mountain Co-Op and the Warren store last weekend. There were a ton of ppl up there for HF's Harvest Festival who bought em all up.

Fresh faystons is on the shelves right now, and with beer geeks flocking to the MRV for Siptemberfest from all over, it shouldnt be too hard to land one in a trade. Retail is 15 btw

Maple fayston is a nice stout but I don't think it's worth what I've seen people give up for it. I'd be sad too if I gave up something like KH for any version except the maple liquor barrel version.

The Oaked was too "oaky" but then again, I'm not an Oak fan. I just really enjoy the regular version. I agree w BearsonAcid though, I don't think it's worth what people are asking, but then again, what is?

And it's delicious. I'd give up something big for a second bottle or a bottle of the new batch.

Okay, so this really bugs me and I'm hoping someone here can verify.

Late this summer a guy posted he was driving to Colorado to see his buddy and was looking for a Dark Lord. As he was passing through Madison, i said I'd be happy to help him out in person. He said he had a Bourbon Fayston's to trade if that worked for me. I said it did and asked him to verify it was the Bourbon, since I'd had the base beer recently. When we met in person he handed me an Oak Aged Fayston's. On my bad, I briefly looked at the bottle, completed our trade, and hopped back in the car. When I got home I texted him saying that he had traded me an Oak Aged...he said this was, indeed, the bourbon aged because it was aged in Utopias and Buffalo Trace Barrels. I told him it was not.

So, please help to verify this for me: two different listings, two totally different beers, correct?

That's interesting, because I also bought a few from Lawson himself at a farmers market and he said it was aged in Buffalo Trace and Utopias barrels. Mine also says "oak barrel" aged on it.

Two batches. The labeled "bourbon barrel aged" was aged in Maker's Mark barrels. The "oak-aged" batch was aged in the Buffalo Trace->Utopias barrels.

We had it on draught at Blackback in Waterbury while we were up for the HF Harvest Fest...and it was one of the single most underwhelming beers any of us had ever had. None of us even finished our pour.

I would trade mine for a KH , Hell, I'd add!

To elaborate...there wasn't a hint of maple...and it was one of the darkest, roastiest, dryest goddam stouts I've ever had. Just wasn't much to it.
