I'm glad you're okay! And you're right about perspective. I'm tiring of the (admittedly) self-induced "pressure" of new releases. One of the things I've always liked about Carton is that you can generally get what you want because they brew enough that it lasts a few days. In fact, I'm usually in and out in under 2 minutes. Now, there seems to be lines everywhere and it's a lot more hit and miss as to what is available.

Glad you're ok! Good call on drinking an aged one though.

Not sure if they planned to sell out so fast or what but maybe lower limits would have been better. Doesn't really help to have high limits when you know people will be off and can double dip. Doesn't really work well for, "spreading it around."

You think 4 4 packs per person was a high limit?
Regular ran out because we Also sent it to stores to "spread it around"
Everyone that bought had their hands stamped so no one could "double dip"

Fair enough. I meant double dip as in come back next day. Lots of people had today and yesterday off. Benefits them I guess.

Yes. That's why we did it. Because it's a national holiday combined with a Sunday so it's easy on people. And again regular goes out to distro. I have no idea how you are finding something to complain about here. Literally 1200 people came through for this beer. For a brewery our size and a brew this size I think it got pretty well spread around.

@augie. You guys did great with the release, some you just can't please unfortunately. And the staff worked hard to make it fair as always. Brewery was as packed as I've seen it. Cheers Carton!

Augie, I wouldn't qualify any of my comments as complaining. I said, benefits them and on to the next one as you would say.

Did it suck that some people had plans on the holiday and had to work Monday, some people being me, sure it did.

Did it last as long as people expected? Certainly not as long as I expected but I don't speak for everyone.

Were the allotments too high? I mean, it didn't last long but what do I know. 1,200 people came through. Maybe 2,400 would have had a shot with a lower limit.

Stating an opinion and complaining are mutually exclusive. That's forgotten around here pretty quickly when we don't like what someone says. Bottom line how I see it is this was not what I think a lot of people are accustomed to with a Carton release. I'm bummed, sure but I'm not complaining and please don't take it that way. I fully support this brewery with my hard earned cash year round and that should mean more to you than anything I say opinion wise here.

I truly mean on to the next one. There is always another release and always another beer these days. It's up to you to decide how your releases are run and if it ultimately worked for the brewery then everything is good, I suppose.

Sorry to hear about the bad luck. Any accident, minor or otherwise, can be terrifying. Glad to hear you're okay.

FWIW, when I had one of my aged Regular Coffee cans back in November I was more than happy with how it's held up. You're in for a treat if you crack one!

we had irregular when we closed today and regular is going to all the stores that get cans, so no one has missed out on it yet. some people drove 3 hours or more for this beer and left with 16 cans, of regular and 12 of each of the variants, less would be unfair to them. anyone that made 2 trips is welcome to have 2 shares i can't believe you would suggest otherwise.
you love to point out what an opinion is, in my opinion you are complaining and shouldn't. i work very hard to make these things very simple for everyone, if you can't figure a away to get this beer with all the opportunities i have created your just not trying.

    Yeah, that's not true.

When I say that a release isn't what's expected that's not an immediate jab at you, Augie. It isn't typical in the sense that yes, 1,200 people came through in 2 days and that's a lot for your releases.

Since you wanna take shots at me my final opinion is that your overly sensitive and a little arrogant borderline pompous about your brewery. I also think that you feel you can throw weight around in here because your day job is a brewery that has a thread about it.

I come here to share my opinion because that's what this forum is. If you don't like it, perhaps you are in the wrong place. I love your brewery and I'm going to look past the way you have come at me and continue to spend my money there, as I've done for many years. If you want a pat on the back for brewing a beer and putting it in a can you'll have to look elsewhere. I've said my piece I'm moving on to the next one.

I actually think it's awesome that augie posts here and cares enough to engage in regards to this matter. I love when brewer's interact with their customer base and I love when they give a shit instead of turning a deaf ear to concerns.

I didn't see the message yesterday until it was too late and unfortunately had to work today, but I have no real problems with the way they did this. If people came on two separate days I guess they are entitled to two separate allotments of the same beer. It's not like it sold out in one day. And the stamping and due diligence in regards to people returning on the same day is much appreciate. I'll be looking out for regular at my local and think it's cool they keep the local stores in mind. I would like to get my hands on some Churro though. Have to work Wednesday til 630 so have to hope it lasts

let me try this another way:
the reason we sold out of regular coffee is because i put 200 cases in stores. 200 cases i will make significantly less money on will be in stores spread from cape may to sparta in the hopes that it will be easier for you to get your hands on.

For what it's worth to the grand scheme here, I agree with all of this.
