If they have them, try the sampler 12 pack with 4 different beers -- usually including the latest seasonal. Gives you a chance to try the everyday Goose beers like the Honkers, IPA, 312 and then a specialty. Usually pretty economical too.

I'm really starting to like this idea... too many beers to buy otherwise...
Thanks for the good vibes on Sofie everyone. It sounds like a really solid choice!

Why not purchase all of them over a few weeks/ months if the supply is enough

Infected Matilda is the stuff beer geek dreams are made of.

My favorite from them was King Henry, but out of their beer brewed more than once would have to be their Pepe Nero

I'd say Sofie is their best regularly brewed beer, in my opinion. Then I'd go with Matilda then Honker's Ale. I don't drink much else of GI's regular brews because there is better beer out there. Their specialty releases are another story. All BCBS and variants, and Madame Rose, Juliet and Lolita are phenominal beers and I will drink these and seek them out as much as possible.

I am lucky to live in Chicago and get to try their one-off brewpub beers fairly often and have had some outstanding beers there.

Overall, regardless of their sale to In-Bev, GI still rocks.

I think Matilda flies under the radar... It's one of my go to choices...
I also love the Honker's Ale which is a sytle I with more brewers made and is uber sessionable...

Since Goose Island is now owned by AB-InBev, they are the Devil. You should all immediately STOP buying their beers. Especially, please stop buying BCBS (ALL VARIETIES), Juliet, Lolita, Sofie, Madame Rose, Maltilda and Pepe Nero. Leave them on the shelves at all costs. Also, if you have any old bottles in your cellar (things like RARE or King Henry), please do NOT drink them. I will send you my address so you can promptly send me these unholy beers so that I may properly dispose of them.

+1,000. Matilda is a fantastic everyday/pair with food workhorse beer that gets better with age, I'm glad to have it readily available.

I would say bourbon county coffee. KH was alright but a little too sweet for me. I still haven't tried rare so that could be the best I just don't know.

I really like Green Line pale ale. Just picked up a 4 pack of BCBS, have yet to crack one, but I sure hope it's better than Bramble Rye. BR is just way too sweet... I wouldn't drink that stuff if it was free.

Matilda is the only Goose Island beer I've tried but I think it's a very solid beer. I have an empty bottle of it to my right. I've heard great things about King Henry and BCBS of course, so I'm looking for those to pop up somewhere.

You should try Matilda and Juliet pronto. I also say BCBS is iffy, unless you love hot bourbon beer then you should love it.

I enjoy sofie and matilda a lot - matilda wins of the two for me though. sofie is really good but the amount of citrus in there, at least as I remember it, kinda crowded out some of the yeasty saison flavors that I love. Matilda was just wonderful though, and goes great with a lot of food.
