I do love me some stats. I track the beer I drink in an Excel sheet. This way I can review year-end stats. So here we go. A couple notes:
    • I track beers by 12 oz. increments, with some rounding. If I have a 22 ouncer, I would count that as 2.
    • I do track half beers, since I share a lot of beer with GF and friends. Not counting half beers would leave out a lot.
    • I don't count sips I take from other beers. I'm not really a ticker so I don't feel the need to record every single beer tried (not a ticker, but clearly a little OCD)
    • Pints are a problem. Count as 1 or 1.5? The compromise is this: pints at home are 1.5, pints in a bar are 1 (the thought is that these will even out, plus the bar pints seem to be mostly shorter than 16 oz., plus I don't get a lot of pints anyway--the bars I go to tend to do 12 or 10 oz. pours)
    • I don't keep track of ratings
    OK on to some stats!

    Total 2016 beers: 275 (and a half)
Different beers: 126 (counting vintages different for any beer where vintage is labeled. E.g. New Glarus R&D Vintage 2014/2015 count as different beers)

    Most common styles:
IPA: 59 beers (only counts American IPAs, does not count Belgians or doubles etc.)
    APA: 33.5
Stouts: 19.5 (here I lumped all stouts together. Sue me.)
    Marzen/Oktoberfest: 16
    Kellerbier / Zwickelbier 15.5
    Hefeweizen: 13.5

    Most common breweries:
    New Glarus: 60.5
    Central Waters: 31
    Ale Asylum: 23

Most common out of state brewery:
    Westbrook: 17

Most common countries other than U.S.:
    Belgium: 16.6
    Germany 12.5

    Most common beer:
    New Glarus Zwickel: 15.5

    In-state beer: 49.91%

Stand-outs (not necessarily the "best"; honestly I could list 40 or 50 here):
    New Glarus zwickel
    New Glarus R&D Vintage 2014 and 2015
    de Garre Tripel
    Central Waters 18
    COAST 32°/50°
    Duvel (as always)
    Boulevard Tank 7
    Schlafly Tasmanian IPA
    Westbrook One Claw
    Central Waters Sláinte

    Let's see some stats!

Also keep a s/s, but only about actual stock I have and not what I drink outside. Just started using Untappd to help with that.

    2016 Purchases = 477 bottles (avg. 1 purchase/week)
    • Amount drank = 266
    • Amount shared = 59
    • Amount gave away = 23
    2016 Year-end inventory = 434 bottles

225 different beers and/or years of the same beer (e.g., 2015 & 2016 Parabola, KBS, BCS, etc. count as distinct beers) in stock.

    Avg. ABV 11.11%
Avg. BA Rating (incomplete) is approx. 92.17/4.20
Avg. RB Rating (incomplete) is approx. 97.03/3.82
    My average rating is 94.45

    Largest inventories:
    • DFH - 57 (mostly WWS & 120')
    • GI BC - 51

I only reviewed 23 beers in 2015, so subtracting those 23 from my total leaves me with 415 new-to-me beers this year that I reviewed. That doesn't include sips or flights. Shamefully, it does include some half pour reviews.

Not totally sure how my styles break down.

I can say I spent way to much on beer. So much so that one of my biggest goals for 2017 is to actually maintain my beer budget, and not spend all my extra pennies on it. Splurging is nice, just not for 12 months straight.

I don't count how many individual bottles/glasses of beer I drink or how many times I've tried beers I've already had, just how many new beers I've tried.

That said... looking over the text file where I keep track of that kind of stuff, it looks like I tried 85 new beers in 2016. 42 of those (almost half!) were ones I had on tap at a brewery or restaurant, though I did go back and get six-packs of a few of them later on.

Also did a good number of reviews, though not as many as 2015 (partly because I was trying less new beers than in 2015 so a lot of what I had was stuff I'd already reviewed!) -- 44 of them total (BA site seems to think I reviewed Mocha Marlin on January 1st, 2017 but I know I drank that one around 8-9 pm on the 31st and posted the review between my first and second pours... so I'm counting it toward the 2016 reviews.)

Styles are all over the place: 14 in the IPA family (including double IPAs, red IPAs, white IPAs, etc.), 11 in the stout/porter family, 7 Saisons (...most of them different variants of one at a local brewery), 4 Scotch Ales, 3 Helles, 3 Oktoberfests, 3 American Pale Ales, 3 Irish Reds...

Just looked at my Untappd stats for the "last 365 days"

    TOTAL BEERS = 1601
    UNIQUE BEERS = 806
    TOP 3 STYLES:
    1. IPA = 144 unique
    2. Imperial IPA = 127 unique
    3. Pale Ale = 56 unique
TOP 3 BEERS: (based on number of times I checked in with them)
    1. Founders All Day IPA
    2. Bells Two Hearted
    3. Bells Hopslam

I am glad Untappd kept track of this for me, because as you can see.... I have no recollection of what happened in 2016... lol

What a great idea. I don't keep track of my beer consumption but a rough look at my ratings on BA tells me that I had around 370-380 beers last year. I'd say more the 95% of these were beers I had for the first time. No idea what the style distribution was but I'd guess it leaned a lot toward IPAs, PAs and various Belgian styles. US- and Belgian-made beers were probably the majority, followed by German ones.

2-3 beers per day x 365 days, somewhere between 730 and 1095 consumed in 2016. Tried and bought tons of new beers but did not keep track. I'm at Excel all day at work and just want to enjoy beers when I get home. Cheers!

More than I would've guessed, but that only includes the # of new beers I tried. If I included every single beer I drank through out the year, it would probably be around 600 or so.
