    Been having a few tonight... on a pre-surgery liquid diet, but beer is a liquid. They said 3 days before the surgery but since it's stomach surgery (hiatal hernia) I want it to shrink if possible. SO I have 5 more days of beer.

    Three Bandits from Lupine Brewing
    3.94/5 rDev -1.3%
    look: 4.25 | smell: 4 | taste: 4 | feel: 3.75 | overall: 3.75

    This pours pitch black, with a 2 finger, tan head. The nose is fairly rich with coffee smells. The taste of this beer is very strongly coffee flavored. Not too watery feeling. Not bad at all.

    My boss had one of those last year. He said it sucked more than he thought anything could possibly suck. Exact quote. He said the surgery was relatively easy though. Good luck and enjoy the liquid diet.

    Deschutes Conflux Series 2 Collage

    Wasn't sure what I was picking up initially, I just knew this bottle was behind the counter. Now I wished I had picked up more.

    Fruits, red wine, a little tartness, vanilla. I saw someone else described a cognac flavor and that is a good description.

    Strongly recommended.

    Moving on staying hoppy, NB Voodo Ranger Imperial IPA. Went a bit crazy at the beer store. Seems like all the the new stuff hits at once...
