Chicagoland NE IPAs (2018)

Interesting. I've got a couple Reply Hazy left. I'll try one this weekend and see if I notice the same thing. I'm not surprised at all on VG. Even Tree House says their opinion on a sweet spot is 4-6 weeks out. And Very Green is on a completely different level than any of the Chicago offerings. I bet it would taste better in February than any of ours.

 

I'll save a can to revisit it at the end of this month.

 

Hailstorm definitely tweaked Stratus it since the last time I had it. You can tell just by looking at an old batch vs. that batch in the pic.

 

It's like they are a different beer, they weren't that hazy before. I've always said the cloud series is more akin to the HF stuff than the MA stuff, but it looks like they've set out to change that.

 

I picked up Stratus and Cumulus from a store in the burbs, figured they would be the latest releases and didn't bother to look at dates. Stratus was 9/16/16 and Cumulus was 11/2016 Pretty disappointed.

 

Silver lining: Go get the latest batch release and do your own side-by-side comparison

 

I asked for the Marz NE IPA & got laughed at yesterday at Bottles & Cans.

Lol, that's .81 cents an ounce! Let's hope my favorite brewmaster doesn't see this and raise his prices to correspond more with bombers.
