Hopslam 2017

Last year Meijer stores had cases upon cases of it.... curious to see if it will be the same this year!?!?

 

Great news. Looks forward to Hopslam every year!

 

Managed to find one case last year when I wandered into a store the day they got it. I bought one six pack (the limit), and the rest was gone the next day. I'm hoping I can get at least one six pack. Two would be incredible.

 

My favorite part of Hopslam release (other than drinking it, of course)
is introducing it to "my not so into good beer" friends. You know..the stories where they enjoy it, grab a 6 pk, drink 5 of them like it's a light beer and then say how the next thing they knew, they were waking up naked on their living room floor. Maybe this just happens in my circle.

No bottles, just cans again this year.

 

It's tasting great, even better than last year's IMO

 

That's good to know. I thought the 2016 was much more balanced than the 2015. I can't wait to see this one showing up here.

 

Im gonna have to put some aside for my wife once she delivers this summer!

(Yes, I know to drink IPAs fresh, get off my back.)

 

Congrats! I have heard that it has held up better in cans. My case usually doesn't make it past a month so I wouldn't know, though.

In years past, we thought Hopslam was the cat's meow. (See attached avatar.) Now, we find other brews that are as good, even if they don't have the honey. For us, DFH 90 Minute, New Glarus Scream IIPA, Sucks, and Abrasive are far more available and slake the DIPA thirst. We'll certainly pick up at least a sixer, and enjoy it a lot, but it's not a near-religious experience. It's beer.

 

I thought this didn't come out till like 2nd week of February....anyone know when it will be available in OH???

No way. Time flies. Feels like I was just drinking this out of a mini keg. They are making those again this year I hope.

 

No Hopslam minikegs this year, unfortunately

Yes they do. I've got a group of friends that always gets together on Christmas Eve.
We have always had a Bell's minikeg (Two Hearted, Brown Ale, ...) and we all sign it and make a funny comment on the outside every year. It is cool each year seeing what we wrote in the past.
