while i am usually a forgiving person the inability to look at a calendar is not a passable excuse, if that is what happened.

I was trying to think back the last time they actually did this - I think it might have been year 1 of Reserve, when they held it at the original tasting room (with the creepy baby dolls) - it seemed like there were 100 or so people, max. My suspicion is that this wasn't intended to be "all inclusive" or comparable to the Anniversary Event - more like a glorified member Monday/preview of what 2017 has to offer and the initial allocations, etc.

The new burger place at Pacific City in HB, American Dream, has Grey Monday on tap.

Don't lose faith. This is the exception and not the rule.

Events often have multiple sessions to accommodate those of us that want to go.

Couldn't find the message to quote but popped a '16 BT tonight and it tastes great.

I think these guys smooth out over time, so if you had a '13 or '14 recently I could see where maybe one might use the term 'tart' or peppery for a '16, but no sense of infection in my bottle.

I think people are just too ready to look for an off flavor these days. I've now had scores of BT over the years and I can't recall anything different other than reduced heat. Maybe my palate isn't World clasd distinguishing but I can't see picking out 'tart' in a bourbon booze bomb that breaks 20% ABV.

What is this archive sale that you speak of? Did they list what beers they were selling?

Hopefully they can hold your beers. Seems silly walking around with bottles at every tasting booth.

While on the subject of events. I'd like to make a suggestion for the lanyards for the anniversary event. On the lanyard print the maps upside down. It being right side up drove me nuts. I'll show you what I mean.

Here is what it looked like when I was wearing it and wanted to see the map.

Or you'd have to twist is while holding the lanyard aside all while holding a glass.

HOWEVER if you printed it upside down. You could just grab it and look down. Easy.

They'd also need twice as much beer and may only have enough of the oldies to support a single event. My point still stands. If you wanted to go you ahould have bought tickets ASAP. It isn't their fault you slept on it. As a Hoarder I'm in the same boat as RS for tix instead of a separate allocation or early sales so if I sleep on an event I want to go to I lose out as well.

I couldnt agree more. I just left the event and there was no way they could have squeezed more into the space.

What a tease - tell us about the beer!

You try the new Chronology Porter?

The new porter is fantastic, and I think will improve with time in a barrel. It has solid roasty malt notes, but isnt nearly as sweet as other Bruery offerings. Our personal favorites were the chron 6 porter, BT Port, Sucre Cognac and 2015 Bourgogne Blanc. The Rue D'Floyd is also a winner.

Hey guys, I thought I'd throw this up here. Last night I opened (and drank) the 2017 Rue D'Floyd, and am currently enjoying a Mash & French Toast, this is what I think:

    Rue D'Floyd:

Roasty stout base, bright cherries, and the characteristic Bruery barrel flavor. The cherries really lightened up the otherwise fairly heavy stout. Is it like the original? I don't remember, it's probably been 2 years since I had the original. It still stands out as a great beer. I'd max if I had the money.

    Mash & French Toast:

My initial thoughts after pouring and smelling it were "damn, this is going to suck", then I tasted it and changed my mind, big time. It has everything going for it that I was hoping for. Honestly, it reminds me of eating Waffle Crisp, which was one of my favorite cereals, so I am extremely happy with it. The maple comes through nicely with the spices coming in at the end. All the flavors are balanced quite well. I'd max this too if I had the means to.

Just took another sip of the waffle crisp, damn this is fine.

Thanks! How much did the coffee come through on the RDF? I think an earlier review said it was prominent.

I love coffee, but not really in beer, so trying to decide if it's bold if I want to save my bottles and see if it mellows.

It was very strong on the nose, but more muted in the taste. It was still pretty strong, but the cherries took over for the coffee.

Edit: Don't know how to type while I'm boozy.
