Keep up the good work (I, for one, will be buying more)!

I was excited to see that Goody Two Shoes was reviewed in the latest Beeradvocate magazine I got this weekend. Jason scored it 100! Called it mind blowing. Sounds like the brewer's pride in this beer is well founded. I haven't had a chance to pick this up yet but now I'm really intrigued. Cat's Meow and Hair Raiser were two of my top favorite beers I tried in 2016. Unfortunately Leitmotif was a bit of a disappointment for me but 2 out of 3 isn't bad.

Goody Two Shoes has grown on me a lot. I needed to clear my mind of IPAs, and then I appreciated it more for both what it is and how its flavor melds so nicely with its refreshing nature. Kinda a quintessential beer. As always, gotta judge within the style and how it executes there. Very happy to see these guys scoring well. I wish nothing but the best for the brewer and his staff... all very nice people.

@konabrewer Will your pale ale (demo tape 3) see the light of day again? Really liked that one. Similar question on demo tape 8 (simcoe pale ale) - will that graduate and be brewed more often?

I truly appreciate your giving us such insight into the process. If I can ask, what were the hops you used in the batch of Hair Raiser that got canned a few weeks back? I absolutely adored that particular beer. This latest one is good, but different - maybe you'd release the other version under a different name?

@jbertsch, I think Demo 8 became the Mindset series, but it looks like the hops have changed from the Simcoe used in the demo version. We'll need @konabrewer to confirm tho. I agree that the Demo 8 was quite good.

Demo Tape 3 and 8 have graduated to an actually labeled brand. We call Mindset Project. This is an exploration of Pale Ale both on the hop side as well as using fun and interested cereal grains to accentuate the hops.
The first one is out now. It is driven by Citra over a classic Oat Pale Ale recipe.
The next one is planned for late Feb release and will be driven by Azacca and we are considering options for the malts now.
IT's getting fun now isn't it!?!

The initial batches of DIPA, both DEMO TAPE SEVEN and the first batch of Hair Raiser had Galaxy, Segal Ranch High Oil Cascades, Pekko and a touch of Chinook. As much as we loved these batches, Pekko is not a hop I am that enthused about. Its very herbal and is not the hop for this beer moving forward. We were able to finally get our Azacca which will find its way into the next batch of Hair Raiser (brewing this week). We also are going to add a touch of Mosaic in the dry hopping to give it that extra aroma we are looking for! The look of the beer changed and that was not necessarily on purpose. Just the nature of things I suppose. I have every intention of making this next batch of HR good enough to blow people's minds...

I certainly lose sleep over these things and I hope everyone here understands that beer is not just a job for me. It's my life's work and it puts a roof over my kids heads. Sometimes people forget that actual humans are behind all this madness we call beer.

    Keep on thinkin' while drinkin'

Thank you, and as a lover of Mosaic I look forward to trying the next batch. Not super familiar with Aazcca, but stoked to try it in what I'm sure will be a fantastic vehicle. Personally, I don't care if the beer I'm drinking is clear or hazy or purple, as long as it's got the nose, feel and flavor.

If I swing by the brewery this weekend, will the new batch be out? Looking forward to drinking it.

I, for one, am pretty excited about this Hair Raiser adjustment. I am very sensitive to mint and it overwhelmed the back end of the beer flavor for me. I thoroughly enjoyed all other aspects of that beer. I'll be sure to try the new batch. Thanks for all you do.

I wholeheartedly agree on the mint that was coming from the Pekko. That hops is leaving the building... well maybe I will toss some in a future Saison project, but nothing else.

I liked the touch of mint to HR, it drank like a mojito DIPA. But I love azacca too - win either way for me.

Last batch of Cat's Meow was great! Wasn't the biggest fan of the first batch you distributed, but this one was great. Wasn't slick/buttery at all. Very nice.

I guess I'm in the minority but I actually enjoyed the minty-ness in Hellraiser. Gave it a Swishyness.

So just to be clear- I picked up cans of Hair Raiser this past Sunday (1/8) at the brewery that I'm assuming was canned on 12/30 (don't have can in front of me) and this is the final batch with the old hop combo? Haven't cracked one yet but loved Cats Meow and am looking forward to opening one.

Dear @konabrewer - please make Demo Tape 10 into a regular offering. It's fantastic. On par with Bissell Bros' Lux, which is one of my favorite beers.
