One of the more underrated BA stouts out there, IMO. Love that beer.

Hoping to grab some of this this year. Weyerbacher puts out some very solid beers for the cost for sure.

The acetone fusel notes from weyerbacher are too much for me to enjoy. 2015 being the better year indeed.

Wasn't it a bit easier to find last year, though? I was able to get a couple 4-packs from my brother and a trading partner, and they made it seem like it wasn't as bad to get as the year before. I'll probably try to have them grab me a 4 pack this year - I tasted the 2016 this past weekend against other BA coffee stouts (BCBCS, KBS, Coffee Noir) and it was definitely the least favorite of them. Granted, SMS is a lower price, but at this point I would rather have more of the beer I think is better.

In mid Michigan, not really. I think I lucked into the last 4 pack at a store.

Just got this notice on their email list:

No case purchases this year - there will be a limit of 12 bottles per person!

Not a big fan of that decision. May not make the trek, and if I do, I'll only be half as happy about it.

Got this email too......guessing it will be tough to get this year. Since I dont chase I guess I am out........

Last years was really good but not as good with age. Still have 4-6 bottles and its still good but not as good as fresh

    Enjoy

Some of their other beers like Blithering Idiot and Quad are also quite "hot" fresh, but mellow nicely after a few years in the cellar.

I'd try it again, the last one I had I didn't care for all that much, I thought is was way too bitter, and finished badly.

You consider KBS a BBA coffee stout? I would disagree with that sentiment.

    "KBS
What we’ve got here is an imperial stout brewed with a massive amount of coffee and chocolates, then cave-aged in oak bourbon barrels for an entire year to make sure wonderful bourbon undertones come through in the finish. Makes your taste buds squeal with delight."

Most Breakfast stouts are very coffee forward, such as KBS.

As others stated above, KBS is indeed a BA coffee stout. In terms of my comparison to some of those others, I did think that someone could argue that it's not an equal comparison because KBS adds chocolate (while I don't believe the others do). I could get behind that argument, but it's still worthwhile, IMO, to do some comparisons across them.
