Rogue Shakespeare Oatmeal Stout was surprisingly good.

I'm a huge Founders Breakfast Stout fan too, if you want to count that.

Rogue has a good oatmeal stout...called Shakespeare stout. It only comes in a 22oz I think...but I enjoyed it. Also Founders breakfast stout is AMAZING would recommend highly...that comes in a 4 pack. You should be able to find one of those 2 hopefully.

Definitely FW Velvet Merlin, that beer is outstanding.

Been meaning to try the oatmeal stout that Ommegang put out but haven't had the chance.

I recently had that Ommegang and it's worth a shot. Not too heavy on the roast, with a bit more cherry and dark fruit than I expected.

Stockyard Oatmeal stout. Nice, roasty, and best of all cheep ($6 per six pack).

For a little while, I was using them as a base to create my own styles of beer. Putting Mexican chocolate, cinnamon, and coffee inside of a French press and got some good results.

There's actually a pretty solid line-up of beers at TJ's including this one.

Both localish, both aforementioned: Ipswich Oatmeal Stout and Mayflower Winter Oatmeal Stout.

I expect I'll be picking up a sixer of the Mayflower (which I tend to prefer to Ipswich purely because it's a bit lower in ABV) within the week.

Tyranena Carnal Knowledge is one of my favorite beers, it's labeled as a double oatmeal stout.
I've been meaning to try NH The Poet, maybe this week is the time to go pick some up if it's around.

Locally I'm a big fan of Snow Pants by Union. Oatis by Ninkasi is also a great example for the style

Spot on, especially D.O.R.I.S -quite an elixir.

Have to give a shout out to Belhaven Oat stout, sessionionable and delicious. https://www.beeradvocate.com/beer/profile/148/116652/

Belhaven has re-labeled, reformulated a lot of their beers, stepped up their game imo.

A well kept secret around here would be bristol brewing company's winter warlock. Bristol doesn't get much love, but their winter seasonal is amazing, its my go to even above fw vm.

    Firestone Velvet Merkin.

and I agree with Jack, as I usually add 3 pounds or 25% flaked oats to the mash in my 5 gallon batch stouts.

Samuel Smith's is a fantastic take on an oatmeal stout and is a God benchmark to compare everything else to.

I'm glad to see Rogue Shakespeare mentioned a few times. I was blown away by how good it is.

But if you want to go best then it's gotta be Parabola. That's not fair but it is a "Russian imperial oatmeal stout" so I'm going to allow it.
