What beer are you drinking now? #1545

Good morning BAs! The rain is just beating down here and it's finally getting light outside. Got to get to the post office and submit my passport renewal so I can get to Bamberg in June. There's a great little beer tour I'm planning on taking which still has some openings. Today's New Breakfast Beer is:



The black tea does come through and, fortunately for me, the green tea doesn't. This is a very appealing black ale which I think is (vastly) underrated.

For what it's worth:

 

Finally posting the AM beer. The Mrs called halfway through this one to tell me the ice storm was so bad she was turning around and coming back home. While this will curtail any further beer drinking, at least there will be another set of hands to move the stuff around in our basement today.

 

5.4% alcohol. 18 IBU. Certified Kosher.

WTF? Why is WBAYDN 1544 still active? Shouldn't it be locked by now - it's 1200 here on the EST zone.

 

Back home in the cold and snow. Brought a few cans home. Enjoying a Big Swell IPA from Maui Brewing. I like it, got a little bit of that stickiness I seek.

You know it brother, quality food and beer less than $15 with tip, dirty glass 7 out of 10 times, but what you going to do.

 

You keep a good thing going that's what you do!

 

I am still sad they don't have Space Cake flowing, but Boom Sauce is pretty solid.

Post 100 woot!

Good after noon gents and rascals. Weather is being its usual self here. The snow is gone replaced by some freezing rain. I'm exorcising the winter demon with a little help of another friend of mine. He is a bad mother f****r, no not samuel jackson but another believer in divine intervention. Epic Brewing Big Bad Baptist Imperial Stout.

Looks just like a dark roasted coffee. The nose on this perfectly mirrors its appearance.Coffee nibs are bold and aromatic. Richly coating the glass in a maple syrup colored thinning.

Taste is sharp as cold brewed coffee. The whiskey barrels this is aged in has a big part in what makes this brew "big and bad".As it should. Alcohol is definitely present here. Sipping is a must to fully enjoy this one.

A solid foray into the imperial stout barrel aged series from Epic Brewing.
