    Damn...

I bet Doug goes back to the randomness it used to be.

Yea I agree and 80 people seems so random. They should have said selling tickets to the first 100 people in line or something like that.

People should have expected it to be pretty crazy like this, based off the following reasons:
    1. tickets being transferable, where people could purchase tickets without attending..
    2. Saturday release means people can use the rest of the day sleeping...
    3. It is one of the best events of TBBW, so it is highly sought after, especially since the beer released is just for those people attending.

All these signs led to a lot of people showing up early and people getting shut out. I personally could not go, but even if I could, i would not have lined up all night to get a ticket. Not going saves me about 400.00 (100 for ticket, 150-200 for hotel, gas/food giong down today, and food the day of the event)...I am bittersweet about not going, but there is no way to keep up with all the releases, memberships, and fests anymore. I will be happy to go to Huna day, drink some great beers there, and enjoy a share afterwards maybe.

While I expected it to be crazy, I didn't expect only 70-75 people in line to get tickets. Again, it was posted "400-500" tickets, so even 70-75 getting max 4 each leaves a bunch. Sucks, I was 90-95th in line and thought I was in good shape. Rented a hotel 5 min from there, arrived at 4:40am, got shut out. Wish Doug would have came out a lot earlier than 7am and let us know, could have bolted a lot earlier.

Oh well, am I "salty," you bet...but it shall pass and I'll still enjoy a lot of great events and beers that week.

Walt, my post was not one to insinuate the sentiment many say of "Well, you should have known it was going to be like this...it is your own fault you missed out" sentiment...If i had made the trek and was in the first 100, i would have expected to get some tickets too and would be salty if i was that close and missed out. Especially since you go to so many of the events around Florida, and are at most every release (at least the ones I am at, you are always there lol). I think the appeal to many out of staters to attend this year, as opposed to maybe not last year, was the many people offering tickets for cost+thank you beers. I would easily give up a pretty nice beer or two so i did not have to go through that headache of going. FB groups were flooded with these type of offers, and I think that is where this really began to get some traction where it began to have serious buzz goin around.

Sucks you missed out. But, as you said, there are plenty of other events that week. that is how i am looking at it. Hope my OP did not come off as condescending or "rubbing it in".

I guess you have to show up at 3am for tix to a beer event that will be mostly out of towners or people who wouldn't have got up in first place or are not even in town today to purchase said tix! Anyway you look at it if you have to put a name on a ticket, how can you screw the people who spend their dollar at cycle once a month or more often......it would be better if he did a online purchase for out of towners instead of allowing 50 beer geeks and 30 vagabonds to scoop up all the tixs for others...dildo doug keeps dropping dongers across floridians foreheads should be the next beer release!

Sounds like all that cycle hype is gone! (Sense the sarcasm)

So much butt hurt from people about cycle. Especially from people that are not from Florida! I love it

Saw on instagram today that it looks like they're bottling, but haven't seen any details yet about the beers. I'm curious to know if they'll have similar quantities as last year or if they'll have massive quantities like they did of the coffee anny set and the trademark set.

They know that TBBW draws a crowd. It would be foolish to think they wouldn't have a shit load of bottles to go around. I could obviously be wrong but it seems like the only bottle that is going to be hard to get is the BA day exclusive bottle.

Damn. Where did you see that? Friend of mine can't make the entire trip now and he wants to transfer to someone else.

Names have to match the ticket at time of purchase to my knowledge. Best bet is to email them and see if they'll help you out.

Your friend didn't look very hard. It's written in all caps on the bottom line of the ticket itself: NON-TRANSFERABLE
