Adding "Vintage" to Wants/Gots

    I bet this has already been brought up before, but I think it would be a great idea to be able to input vintage years in the gots and wants list. A lot of people are searching for certain vintages of different beers, so I think this could be a helpful feature.

    Yes, this would be awesome.

    In the meanwhile, I list it in my profile. Or at least I did on the old system. haven't gotten around to updating yet...

    Just to illustrate an example -> I am currently searching for older vintages of Brooklyn Black Chocolate Stout and DFH 120 Minute. I am hesitant to add these to my wants list, because I would not want someone to propose a trade with me for the current vintage, or include them as an extra/etc. in a trade (granted, all extras are awesome, but you get the point). If I could indicate that I wanted a 2008 120, I would definetely put it on my wants list. To me, and I am sure to a majority of BA, the vintage of the particular beer can carry a lot of weight in terms of value.

    I think it works OK with RateBeer where you can put in a comment and most people write vintages in there. That way there's not a million different beer entries, but vintages can be displayed.

    I would also be OK with there being individual vintages available to select for wants/gots. I think that would be a very cool feature.

    Agreed. It would also help if people would be more descriptive in the ISO/FT forum.

    Though I still miss nested threads, I'm liking the new BA a lot. If we got comments for our gots/wants, I'd be fully converted.
