I'm sure this has been asked a million times but I'll ask anyways.

I'll be in Denver one full day in late April and am looking for 5-6 beer spots to go with some friends.

I know the main stops like Great Divide, Epic and Crooked Stave.

What places would you recommend? can be any combination of of breweries and tap houses. Looking to try some local places as well that I won't be able to try over here in Florida

Give us styles and we'll give you places.

Those that come to mind for a person just here for a day:
    1. DryDock
    2. Denver Beer Co
    3. Avery (if u can make it out that way)
    4. Little Machine
    5. Renegade

So many others.. easier to pinpoint once we know what the crowd wants.

If you have the whole day, then you have time to drive around a bit.

I'd start off at Weldwerks. Try everything.
Next I'd go to Avery. It's a bit of a drive
From Avery go to Odd 13. Again a drive.
Park your car, finish off with Crooked Stave and Epic

If that's too much driving for you, just do Odd13, Great Divide, Crooked Stave, Epic, Black Project.

You'll get stouts, IPAs, and sours. Plenty of driving to sober up.

Rather than driving or wandering around, I've just started sending people straight to the Falling Rock. 80+ drafts (with a big CO focus) and plenty of zany bottles of all sorts available, too.
Freshcraft and Lucky Pie are a 5-minute walk from there and will have even more.

Alternately you can just hang out in RiNo all day. Mockery, Ratio, and Our Mutual Friend are all good choices and within easy walking distance. Get lunch at Biju's and dinner at Work & Class. Man, that sounds like an excellent day.

You can swing a dead cat around and hit several places worth visiting. But you're gonna miss something, so don't try to hit all places during your visit.

Disclaimer: Don't actually swing a dead (or alive) cat

it's not pinned, but this is what we should do:
    https://www.beeradvocate.com/commun...do-look-here-first-winter-2017-update.475158/
(pretty helpful for bottle shops, around the 3-4 Tampa/StPete breweries I knew of)

It would never work (by consensus), but particularly helpful to visitors would be lists for Denver proper / metro and separate for suburbs ("day trip" driving to Avery/O13 or WW etc)

if @Domingo endorsed, I would probably draft something for consideration...

Recommending neighborhoods is best, and usually how I advise visitors in FB threads. Manageable to hit several, and fun getting better sense of city by walking! RiNo is definitely my Go-To for recommendations, too.

I've been in favor of a "Things to do in the Denver area" sticky for years. I remember the "assbananas" tagging years. :stuck_out_tongue:Yet with all of the recent changes (+ more on the way), it would definitely need a biannual update.
We probably also need one for Las Vegas with similar parameters. That used to be a simple copy/paste from Destral, but like Denver, Las Vegas has been changing a lot lately.

Highlands map drives right by Briar Common (although I haven't been, so can't say if it's worth mapping) and I'd think should definitely include Avanti and Masterpiece Deli. You're gonna need lunch on this road trip.

RiNo also has C Squared Ciders but you'll hit that if you go to Bierstadt Lagerhaus anyways, and is also missing Zephyr. And might be expanded enough to include Great Divide Original Flavor since that's only like a ten minute walk from the Zephyr / OMF end?

If only we had some good hoppy beers around here we could go elsewhere.

On the other side of the coin, the Falling Rock has many/most of those other great IPAs in one place so you don't have to head all over town. You can even do very easy head to heads with beers like Pliny.
The food should probably be skipped (except the fries, which are legit) though.
The best advice I can give you with the service, which works in most places like this, is to have 3 beers in mind. Be ready for your first choice to be out, too. The FRTH trained me to full-on dominate places like the Delirium Cafe so I've grown to appreciate their comical surliness. It might seem otherwise, but it's just their shtick.
For me the best combo is to eat at the Kitchen, Chophouse, or Lucky Pie followed by the FRTH for beers with no need to head elsewhere.

My brother will be flying out to Denver tomorrow for a long weekend and is willing to bring back some area beers but needs some direction. We are partial to IPAs, sours, and stouts but will drink just about any style. He is staying in the River North area. Are crowlers available at any of the area breweries? Recommendations appreciated.

In Rino you aren't too far from Great Divide and Crooked Stave. Not sure which Crooked Stave hits you in Ohio but chances are they have a bigger selection. River North Brewery isn't too far from there and they specialize in Belgian-style beers and have some great stouts. Also not too far from Epic and that's a must-visit.

Bottle shops nearby include Mr. B's, further away is Argonaut. I can't think of any crowlering breweries nearby.
