Chicago Bottle Share

I'll throw in a suggestion of Irazu. It's a Costa Rican joint near Milwaukee & Western. The food is great, it's a pretty chill atmosphere, and it's easily accessible via CTA. According to their website, they even have a "BYOB Party Room" which seems appropriate. If we have some rough idea of a headcount and day of the week, I'm happy to make an inquiry. FWIW, weeknights would be better for me, since I'd be able to go straight from work.

 

Funny you say that. Irazu and 90 Mile were the 2 places I thought of immediately.

It's across the street on Milwaukee next to that Enterprise. I walk by it twice a day and see the sign.

I would be in for this as well! I was just talking to a couple of other BA's about my first world problem of having too many beer to drink and not enough beer drinking friends to share with.

I'd be down with Irazu. Can train it in from Vernon Hills. I know the "when" is still TBD, but as CB_Michigan stated, weeknights would be best for me. Also may be the best bet in terms of availability to rent the party room as well. For example, it would be wonderful if this share was on a Thursday night, then would just take Friday off for obvious reasons ha.

Speaking of, what does everyone have or thinking they would bring to this share? All barrel aged offerings or a good mix? I ask because I have some good barrel aged stuff I am looking at right now (2013 Black Tuesday, 2014 Chocolate Rain) but also have a pretty tight Treehouse/Trillium connection, in terms of attaining fresh offerings. So, was just curious what everyone's mindset was.....

 

I would suggest to whomever has taken the lead on this to limit the attendance to around 20 people max (depending on the venue, of course). Anything more and the air quality tends to get...ahem, beefy.

That makes sense, although we probably need to figure out the venue before determining # of people that can be shoehorned in.

Sure seems like it since we're at 2 pages with no confirmed time or place yet!

My guess is scheduling will thin out the crowd a bit so we don't have 50 beer nerds descending on the place.

 

Just speaking for myself, but I think a mix is ideal. I would assume it will lean stout heavy since we all bought too many the last few months, but it's nice to have a IPA/sour/other light beer to take a break here or there. It also gives people options.
