I cringe when I see people do this. To each their own but it is not what it's designed for.

I'm sure I will do this at least once but I have to think that it would be awkward to have that much liquid in the glass if nothing else...

It really is. Do it once and you'll see. I find 8oz to be about perfect. I also wouldn't hate on pouring a 500ml in, if was something I wanted to warm, but no more than 500ml for sure.

Spot on, well done! Here's the reply from Bruery:

"So I wasn’t able to get an exact count for you, but was told something around 1500-1800 calories per bottle, which should be fairly similar across the board for our weekday stouts. I’m not sure about any exact numbers in terms of sugars, other than we are fairly sure the beer has a low dietary sugar count after fermentation occurs, but it does have carbohydrates."

Braving the weather tomorrow and driving up from SD to pickup my RS package and recent allocations. Any recommendations on a nice sit down lunch place in the general area? Will have my significant other in tow and would like to get some good eats while we're up in OC.

If you mean right around the Bruery, there sadly isn't much there.

Grits is pretty good for brunch or if you want a good burger you could go to Pie Dog or Burger Parlor. These places are in the Downtown Fullerton area, about 10-15 minutes from the Bruery. There are a ton more spots, including a lot of solid pizza.

Doesn't have to be right around there, we're mobile and willing to drive. Just would prefer to stay within the greater OC area. My experience in Orange County is pretty limited to going to breweries, going to disneyland, and driving through there to get to LA.

Might try the Packing House - a lot of options there and a chance to park once and walk around a bit. Sit down, but counter service. Timewise about the same distance as downtown Fullerton.

    How close?
Suggestion:. Drive to the packing district...It's totally worth it. Many options of food. My wife loves that place!

2.5 miles away is Salt and Ash, which is yummy - a little on the nicer side. They're open 9-2 for brunch and then from 5 on for dinner.

Maybe Haven gastropub in Orange as well. Decent food and draft selection.

Did anyone else think Melange No 15 tasted like acid washed rot? What a mess.

There's been some infection talk in this thread recently. I had one of my bottles a couple months ago and it was fine.

I feel better soloing a Weekday beer out of a single pour than the crushing feeling I have after topping off the glass with what's left in the bottle. Maybe I should buy a literal fishbowl sized snifter...

Also, Derde Golf is interesting. I can understand the hate but a sour coffee beer isn't terrible.
