Good morning. -9 degrees Celsius (15F) this morning in my rural emptiness... Guinness Foreign Extra Stout is a nice warmer.

Good morning BA, have a great Sunday! Got some errands to run today, and a bit of work from home on my laptop to finish up some projects due tomorrow; shouldn't take too long.

Tasting insane as usual, around 5 week old 4 pack. Flavors of big grapefruit, tangerine, mango, pineapple, passion fruit, lemon/orange peel, citrus rind, light pepper, and pine hops; with some light caramel/biscuity malt balance; and herbal, floral, grassy hop earthiness. Moderate pine/rind bitter finish. Medium bodied; sticky/resinous mouthfeel with a fair amount of balancing malt creaminess. Increasing resin dryness, and never astringent on bitterness. Super bright and dank on hops, and extremely drinkable. I always buy this, Columbus IPA, or White Rajah when I visit my parents around holidays. All completely amazng IPAs, I wish I could get them up here locally.

Awesome coffee milk stout! Flavors of big nutty dark roast coffee, milk/dark chocolate, cocoa, caramel, toffee, vanilla, cream, and toasted dark bread; with light notes of smoke, char, cherries/dark fruit, and wood. Bittersweet balanced roasted finish. Full bodied with an amazing creamy/silky/rich mouthfeel. Very drinkable, minimal warming ABV. I remember loving this when I reviewed it a year ago in the bomber format. I think it might be even better in the Nitro bottle. Definitely worth picking up more singles, or even a full 4 pack.

Incredible old ale as always, Jan 2015 batch. Flavors of caramel, brown sugar, raisin, plum, fig, cherry, apple, toasted oak, toffee, and molasses; with lighter notes of nutty biscuit, chocolate, oaken vanilla, leather, and tobacco. Light balancing earthy bitterness and spicy oak on the finish. Creamy/silky medium-full body mouthfeel. Lightly drying from hop bitterness and oak tannins. Tons of well rounded complexity across the board. Very smooth sipping for the ABV, mild warming finish. One of my favorite easily available Old Ales of all time. Glad I stumbled on another full 4 pack of this batch when I was in Ohio over thanksgiving last year. I prefer this with a year or more of age. It just keeps getting better.

Always world class. Huge flavors of caramel, toffee, brown sugar, brown bread, molasses, raisin, plum, bourbon, toasted oak, vanilla, coconut, and light chocolate. Balancing bourbon/oak spiciness against sweetness; lightly drying from tannins. Full bodied; creamy/slick and slightly syrupy mouthfeel. Low alcohol warming on the finish for 12%, never boozy. The malt and barrel balance/integration is amazing. This is basically a year round available offering for me on the shelf. Just as great or better than Backwoods. Still not completely sure which I prefer more; but I always keep both around, so it doesn’t matter. This seems to have more barrel influence over the malt though, which is really the key difference. Need to go buy another pack soon, this was my last one.

If you're heading out for beer in NYC, I'd recommend The Haymaker, awesome place! One Mile House was also great!

Good morning BAs - this will be a cross post with NBS. It's a foggy morning out there - don't know how warm but if it stays dry I may trim my two apple trees. Or not. Today's New Breakfast Beer:

Now drinking Kwak home, in a much warmer environment. I've had a good weekend, hanged out yesterday evening with some friends I hadn't seen in months if not years. Reconnecting with life long friends is a good thing.

    Cheers, have a good Sunday!

Agreed! I drank one New Year's Day and thought it was the best collab of the year. Similar to Jester King's Noble King, but more juicy citrus/tropical fruit hop bitterness on the funky horse blanket yeast. Drinking well you are good sir!
