Attacks on this web site outside of this thread in beer mail? If that is true, that is not cool at all. If someone who is not involved with this trade they should say their peace in this thread where everyone can see it, not hiding in a beer mail.

If there "truly" were *personal* attacks in messages on BA please report them and they will be handled accordingly. Until then, this could easily be he/said she/said scenario.

Also, your reputation is on the line, so if you feel the OP isn't telling the whole story (presenting the facts), now is your time to speak or forever hold your peace.

    Wow.

Honestly, I have no problem with people tracking down & 'thrashing' people who have every intention of stealing beer because, well, they've asked for it. I know it can be difficult to judge intent, but @bikesnbeerFtc showed up the day after this thread was created & appeared to be trying to make things right. That shouldn't require a lynch mob.

I've been preaching for a while that the vitriol aimed at bad traders has gone overboard. I hope those who made personal attacks privately as held responsible. People need to chill the fuck out.

I will post screen shots of the BM and Text messages when I get off work. I did use bad judgment in posting on social media where he works and I truly regret and feel bad about it and have apologized to him for that. Whatever is decided I will accept. I do however have messages both on BA and texts that will back up what I have posted. I was told on the way to get the package and before I even knew which bottle it was that he had a replacement, not that he had to find one. After that I was told on Saturday before last that it would ship Monday and he did not have the bottle until a week after he said he was going to ship it and did not communicate any of this until after this thread was posted and the post on social media. I have told him that I wished he would have just told me he didn't have another Fou and We could have figured out a replacement that didn't have to be a Fou. The communication was really the issue here. An expectation was set and not met. It is not just me, I have messages from another user that contacted me after seeing this thread asking me about it and saying he was not responding to him either, "Hey man, I just recently set up a trade with Bikesnbeerftc. He has been super shady and terrible communicating. Said he shipped my box last week but never responds when i ask for tracking #. Haven't received my box yet and I'm starting to think he set me up. Did you actually receive a box from him? Just curious. He now has 2 bad trader reviews." and then "His communication is by far the worst I've ever dealt with on BA or any trading site. Hopefully my box shows up... sorry about your Fou." I can also post these screenshots from BA. He and myself have been getting hate mail due to the posts on FB. I deleted the posts and someone in the one group I posted it in took screenshots and took it a bad trader group that I am not in on FB. I posted it to begin with based on the information I had available. There was a previous negative feedback, misinformation, lack of communication, the account being blocked the last time he was online, and another user telling me that he was not communicating back to them either. I truly am sorry for the way things have turned out. I never expected when I posted this for it to turn into such a big deal. I will also post a screenshot of what I posted on Facebook for full disclosure. I feel that with communication and transparency we would have avoided any issue to begin with. I truly thought I would not see the replacement. I do again apologize for using bad judgement.

It may have been a little on the quick side to post his job and such on social media. But as you have said it appeared he had a replacement in hand and he didn't and there was no communication for over a week until this thread was created. Another case where the whole thing could be avoided with just some simple communication. Hope this gets resolved as it seems both parties are trying to make this better and have learned from it.

Alright...It sounds like both of you, as well as the community can learn a thing or two of *what not* to do in future trades. Or, another way to look at it is....What would have made this a better (fun) trade. Cause in the end...Isnt that what it's all about!?!

    (1) communication (2) factor in weather when shipping (3) no posting personal info on BA

We ALL make mistakes or wish we would have done things "differently". Not just in beer trading, but in everyday situations.

Sounds like this will be resolved, which is always a positive.

@dmbforever A quick question. I don't want to make another mistake regarding personal info. If I were to post the Facebook post on here it will reveal the personal info that I wish I would not have posted. I Should not post this correct?

Absolutely not! Regardless of the social media platform you shouldn't be throwing around someone's personal information to begin with, and any amount of actual patience would have avoided the issue entirely.

So would communication. Pretty much the cause of most BT threads from what I can tell.

@SammyJaxxxx These are only cliff notes. I am only posting this to show the timeline and accuracy of my original post.
This is the day the package was delivered. Before I knew which bottle it was I was told there were replacements for all of the bottles.
I then received a text on the following Saturday that a replacement would be shipped Monday. Then Friday I replied to ask what was going on. Saturday I opened this thread thinking I would get a response. After a response on this thread said he blocked his account and I received a message from another user involved in a trade with him saying he was not responding to him either, I admittedly made an error in judgement and posted it on social media. I truly feel bad about this and sent him a sincere apology. Then later Sunday, a week after he said he was shipping it out, I received a message that he had just tracked down another that I was led to believe he already had.

I'm sorry did you not understand that these were the things I was upset about in the first place. I thought you agreed to let it die and move on.

@dmbforever so can we get this thread off of here and end this. He has a tracking number and agreed on a day to ship the bottle is on its way.

After bringing his employer into it, you don't deserve to get a replacement beer.

Well I thought WE did too. I woke up this morning and you had a lengthy post that did not include details that @SammyJaxxxx pointed out contradicted what I said. I've been honest and transparent, admitting when I was wrong and apologizing for it openly on here and privately to you. I wish you would have just told me you did not have another Fou, not told me a specific day you were going to ship, and if you knew you were not going to be able to ship to have simply sent me a message letting me know. Our private conversation leads me to believe that you had every intention of making things right, but you didn't have the bottle and didn't know what to say. I truly am sorry whether you believe that or not.

Did I miss something or has the bad trader still not explained why he didn't respond to the messages in the first place? That would have kept the (unnecessary) escalation from ever happening.

Haven't read through the responses like I probably should have but seeing as how I am his negative feedback I thought I would chime in. Long story short, we agreed upon a trade, I sent his bottles off (something like a Fou, another Loon and some Fonta Flora for Casey beers including Leaner B1) 7 days and 5 or 6 attempts to communicate with him go by with no response in return. Luckily my bottles hadn't made it to him yet so I had the package returned to my house. That was that, or so I thought. To my surprise, 2 or 3 weeks after my package had been returned, I received an awesome Casey porch bomb that was so vast some of it still sits in my cellar until I get around to drinking all of the family preserves, leaner, and cuts out of my limited Casey branded Teku. I sent his beers off the next Monday and that was that, none of my messages ever warranted responses. I'll let you decide if it was worth it, but I still classified the headache as a Bad experience.

Perhaps, leave it as a bad trade and change feedback to reflect that you got your beer? I read the feedback as the BT stole beer from you essentially. Certainly, a pattern of poor communication.

Not to go far off topic, but the number of characters available in feedback is not enough to leave any kind of feedback or explanation for a trade that is anything other than perfect.
