Just wondering how many there are out there, and what are the best ones. I've had a few of them and most of them have been pretty good. None of them have blown me away though. Just wondering what everybody has had/heard of.

Three Floyd's Skeletonwitch Red Death Sour has probably been my favorite so far. I'm still sitting on a bottle of Three Floyd's Mastodon Crack the Skye, but hear it is good. Cigar City's GWAR Oderus Ale is okay if you're looking for something to sip on in the summer time.

Seems like Three Floyd's pretty much has the lock down on metal band beers, (with Surly doing a few maybe?). But seems most bands will dip their toes in the water with a blonde or bitter (Iron Maiden Trooper). I think Amon Amarth did a porter a few years back with Three Floyd's as well.

Surly's 1349 black ale was pretty excellent actually

Keep an eye out for the February issue of the mag. We have a feature dedicated to brewery-band collaborations.

The label on the AC DC beer I was given was tastefully designed. Made the mistake of trying to drink it.

Other end of the spectrum was a tribute to Chained To The Dead brewed by Rushing Duck that was spectacular

A Tout Le Monde by Unibroue (Megadeath) is a farmhouse saison.

Indeed...one of the worst beers I've had in recent memory...

TRVE Brewing Co. has produced some excellent sours, saisons, and wild ales based on a generic heavy metal-themed motif...

That beer was pretty decent for a light ABV saison.

Some British Ale I see in the stores with Iron Maiden "The Trooper" on the bottles. I let it sit thought for the high price and low ratings (78). Cool bottle art though.

3Floyds also did a beer with Amon Amarth. It was called Ragnorak IIRC. Never got to try it, though. But I love Amon Amarth.

The Iron Maiden Trooper ale isn't bad. It's just a very simplistic ESB, iirc.
