So I am thinking about joining Bruery's Reserve Society ( at least I hope to), and I live in Chicago so will need to partner with a trustee. Should I only use someone who is already one? Hopefully safer than a new trustee, right? I assume I give this person access to my FedEx account? Is that what most people do? And what is expected to be sent in return for facilitating the pick up and sending of beers? Anyone have guidance on typical $ amounts for compensation? Combo of locals and limited locals? Quarterly shipments? Trying to figure out how much this will cost above and beyond the pure cost of beer and shipping. Any additional help would be also appreciated. Cheers
I would personally recommend someone that is close and does it for others already And for him muleing your goodies i send limited stuff from my area and things on his wants list remember he or she ;-) is going out of their way to help some one they've never met and its nice to be treated good in return...... Treat them how you would want to be treated :-) People that have muled for me at releases in their area have gotten from me Hunaphu 50/50 King Henry Bcbcs Bramble Cbs Frangelic mountain brown Beat batch 5 Dark lord Yes these are just some of the beers i sent them as a thanks for helping me drink better. Not all went to the same people ( just in case a noob gets any ideas) Most importantly treat your brewery rep. as you would want to be treated if you were muleing for them goose island limited releases. Or other limited release stuff from our area in the midwest Jamie
I send my trustee a 12 bottle shipper with a few thank you beers in it. He fills it and ships it back (with the FedEx label that I included in the original shipment.) We just continue to do this as I have enough beers to fill the shipper.
