Stoneface never really blew me away, but I have wanted to try their RIS. Have their IPAs progressed at all?

I can't speak for any area other than my own (just north of boston) but all of the stores I frequent (probably 5 or so) have old, sometimes very old, bottles of Peeper, Mo, and sometimes Mean Old Tom* on the shelves while immediately selling out of Lunch or Another One if and when they show up. I haven't noticed any decline in that pattern myself. The only thing that I've noticed is that Lunch seems more available on draft around here these days.

*not that it matters for Tom of course

Seconded. Plenty of other IPAs I'd rather have, and that's before considering price.

I don't love their standard IPA either, but I really enjoy their Rye IPA, and that's not a style I usually go for. If they put that one in cans I'd buy it.

    Might be worth a shot?

I think the last few batches of Hopulization have been very good too. I hope they all get canned in a rotation. I'm not sure if I'd buy more of any of them, but I will buy the amount I currently buy (which is every so often when I see fresh). I also like to include their brews as trade extras and many people have told me they enjoyed the brew.

My local store in Burlington has a museum of dusty old MBC beer - Peeper, Weez & Mo from 9 months + .

Lunch still goes quick & I don't know why . A truly average beer that's even more absurdly priced now.

Olde Town. But wouldn't surprise me about BWS. Georgio's in Billerica has some ancient MBC stuff too,

Wouldn't be a New England thread without a MBC pricing derail...

Being next to Market Basket and having the best price around on my favorite bourbon, I really like that place. Not a bad selection at all for a non-craft dedicated type of store either (and lots of cooler space). But they have some seriously old beer on their shelves. If anyone is dying to buy some Enjoy By from March 2016 that's your place.

Sorry to upset your sensibilities. Go ahead back to the monthly HF thread, I won't be there.

Lol Neat. Luckily my sensibilities are intact enough not to beat a dead horse.

Definitely have been interested in trying Stoneface, but the price of the bombers always pushed me away. If I see this, I will give it a try.

The Stoneface IPA cans are hitting NH stores today. They've got Blip cans at the brewery, too.

I like the packaging. we all buy lots of different stuff, so the dollar & space investment in a $10/4 pack works for me.

I always thought the APA was their best core beer, although the IPA & Porter are nice too.

The "clip" series - full clip, half clip, double clip - are pretty kickass though.

and I'll second the hopulization compliments. that's an excellent DIPA. mozzacalypse always comes with too much heat, but hopulization goes down very nicely.

I was last at the brewery in late December, and the un-announced (still?) rumor was they were taking over half/most of the building sometime in 2017 to create a tap room and bigger production.

Following up on this brief exchange, I've actually noticed recently that the bottles have all been newer than was typical. Everything I've checked has been dated 2017. I don't know whether they've been sending less stock, or moving faster, but one way or the other your post appears prescient at least in my area.

And I know it's weird that I check bottle dates on beer that I have no intention of buying, but the continued success of MBC's model genuinely confounds me so I find myself curious

This was confirmed on Facebook on March 1 with expectations of opening "within a few weeks."
