A couple of weeks ago I posted a thread 'the beers that got away' about brews you missed out on that you've had difficulty coming across since. One of my beers was AleSmith Speedway Stout. Since it is easily available on the west coast, barleywinefiend was generous enough to offer to send me one on the house. I am in the middle of a big move and don't have a place yet so I asked him to send it to my sister-in-law. Long story short, the beer arrived a couple of days ago and for the first time in my short marriage I'm really looking forward to seeing my in-laws. I will enjoy this beer twice as much as I would have if I had gotten it the first time around. I just thought it would be appropriate that I give barleywinefiend some props in one of the forums. Thanks man!!!

I have found you have to be careful here mentioning beers you'd love to try or missed out on, unless you like being smacked in the face with graciousness.

    Nice work barleywinefiend.
You know, this is typical of so many on BA.
At present my BA star is mmapes (and co) for some awesome Colorado generosity though Brabander is always a high ranker. Then there's virtually the entire UK BA contingent who have shown themselves to be good bloody blokes all around. And some of them are legendary beer consumers as well.
Great site. Great people. I give you two thumbs up.
