I've been told in the past that as long as they don't get hot, it won't affect the flavor if it warms up to room temperature.

Anyone have some science to back this up?

FWIW, the people on line immediately in front of me and behind me were all talking about reselling them. I was surprised.

You might be over thinking here. If beer can survive cross country in a UPS/USPS/FedEX shipping box for few days...beer in your backpack should survive too....my 2cents

No to mention as you are moving about the city it will be colder outside than the inside of a refrigerator.

I don't understand why this is such a difficult concept for so many people. Getting beer in this manner takes time (of which I have a precious little) and effort. Some people have friends who also enjoy craft beer. Divide and conquer.

I go to Other Half and buy a full allotment one week, a friend goes to Sand City another week, another friend brings back a haul from Trillium, etc. Time saved + lots of great beer = happy me.

Yeah it will probably be plenty chilly outside to where they will be plenty cold. Just taking precautions so I don't pull a diphead move.

Dont worry about it. Unless beer spends multiple hours in crazy hot temps you will be fine. Cheers to you though for wanting to take care of the liquid gold !

I completely understand it, I said "people are trading it," and earlier in this thread i said something very similar. Its the sheer amount of people that do it, that confounds me. Also, I doubt that everyone getting full cases are trading all of the beer they get.

I'm just complaining, my logic might not hold up when you account for the amount of beer drinkers in the area.

Might want to be careful about the cans popping or getting punctured while going about your day though, lost some cans of good beer being reckless with my bag in the past

The fact that 3rd anni is still available due to OH continuing to ramp up production and OH expansion will hopefully make these debates on lines and how much people buy a moot point in the near future. When they reach Trillium like production, I think everyone will be happy.

Reselling it is shitty! But getting a full allotment and trading isn't a big deal. Since I've joined a BIF and now have contacts across the US, there are plenty of them that want OH beers and plenty of beers I want from across the country. I have no problem trading a full allotment away because most likely, I'll have a chance to get the beer again. Unless its a collab or other rare beer (3rd anniversary). Then I'd keep enough for myself to enjoy.

This and the fact that they release cans weekly, I'm hoping the next month will show line/release fatigue. Meaning, hoping lines will get shorter and there will be a greater amount of people to get cans.

you will be fine, if you have a large enough backpack just keep them in the 4 pack holders and throw em in. On release days i'll bring a bag or sometimes back pack and put them in there and they fit fine. If I am not going right home this time of year they sit in my car or my trunk in my backpack and they have been fine. If its super super cold then you have to be careful they don't freeze, but its not going to get that cold this weekend from what I saw

Yeah definitely was concerned about that, as well but maybe i will bring a t shirt or something to provide even more buffer. Might even still have the velcro section separators somewhere, as it is a photo backpack.

What's the difference really? Is there some kind of universal conservation law for beer and by trading we don't disrupt said law of conservation, but sending it to some dude without access disrupts the balance?

Also Nummy is my favorite hoppy beer OH has ever done. I get a ton of berries (not the stupid nelson gooseberry kind) on the nose/taste and I love berries becoming increasingly more featured in hoppy beers!

Let's introduce Belma to the single hop series!

2 qs (that may have been answered here already):
    1) Will 3rd anniversary be on tap this Saturday?
    2) Does anybody know what the can release for this Saturday is?

    Thanks!

The difference...I see reselling as in a markup for profit (i.e. a store wanting to sell OH cans by going to a release, buying and putting it in store or someone buying and selling for a lot more due to demand). The other side of reselling, $4$ or pick-it-up-for me, I see as trading.

Anniversary cans are gone, they had 2 cases left and they went quick. About a 10 person line at opening.

How are they gone? At 430 Sunday (they closed at 6) they had 23 cases left thats 550 beers. Closed Monday. And now at 5:53 less than an hour after they open they're out?

When they opened they said they had about two cases left, 8pp. Maybe the last hour and a half of Sunday was busy. It was gone within about 15 minutes today.
