Just closing the loop on this. I cracked a can of SSMS tonight (1/14/17 batch), and, while it wasn't flat, it felt noticeably undercarbonated for the style. Not anything that would ruin the experience, but I think it would have been better with a few more bubbles. To me, this just reiterates that these guys have issues with consistency and QC. YMMV.

Yeah, definitely not paying $7/can only to play beer carb roulette. I'll try it on draft if I see it. Ridiculous pricing + terrible QC = meh.

I had it on draft at the brewery on 1/20, and it was awesome. Haven't cracked a can yet, but $20 for a four pack was nicer than the prices here.

I have had multiple kegs from singlecut come through my establishment, and they've all been on point.

Haven't had a messed up can or bottle either. Fuzzbox tho? Sometimes you wonder if something was just off and they called it a Brett ipa. I mean, sure, if you say so.

Opened a can of SSMS last night and it was excellent as always, then went out and bought 3 more. I fucking love this beer. I just hope that one off-can was an outlier and I didn't just screw myself.

Opened a second can last night and it was better, but still felt a little undercarbed. Think it's batch variation because whatever they sent in bottles a couple months ago was better.

For the people that picked up some Manor Hill Malt Shop, how is it? Also, would anyone know if DTC sold it all on Sat? I'm assuming yes.

I only one can so far to split with my wife, but we both liked Malt Shop. They said to wait a week or so to open up the cans, so I am thinking (hoping) the beer will get even better.

And I am pretty sure they sold out at some point in the afternoon on Sat, saw lots of people ahead of me and hanging around after with full allotments.

They did sell out of cans on Saturday. I was able to try it on draft, it was good but a bit bitter for the 'milkshake' style. A promising start at least. Interested to see how the beer mellows with some age as others have said

Looks like they have it on draft at the Tap Room and Victoria...hoping to get a growler filled this week.

Has anybody seen any bottles of Farm to Face hanging around? I live in southern Fairfax County and work near Cap Hill. Thanks!

The silence from this group has been bitter sweet. Bitter because there are no beers to chase. Sweet because I can take a hiatus from spending way too much money.

Aslin release tomorrow, full allotment will cost you about $90. I enjoy Gose's and Session IPAs but more so in the spring/summer, not in the middle of winter.

Also wouldn't hurt for them to maybe release beer at a time when other people can get it. I fail to understand the logic-release at 3 every Thursday so the same people get cans every week.

Hopefully that means everyone stays away from Aslin on Saturday :grinning:

This is why I haven't been there in weeks. And then when I can find time to go on Sundays, they announce Saturday that they aren't open on Sunday.

I actually talked to them about this on a recent visit and voiced my frustration as someone who has a 9-5 job and lives/works in DC, and thus cannot reasonably ever get to a Thursday afternoon release (I suggested Saturday mornings fwiw). They said they're not fully committed to Thursdays and that it could change down the line. Ultimately they're still testing things out in terms of releases and the hope was that bigger batches down the line would mean the beer lasts longer and more people can get it.

The silver lining is that if there's any week to not hit up Aslin it's this week. Talking Backwards hits the Pint, Smoke, etc today, Saturday is the Melvin event, and Tuesday is Firestone Walker. That's likely to be the best string of events until CBC.
