Late Night BeerAdvocate - Mon, 10/1/12

Watching the, well MNF game if you can call it that....having this:

 

No, unfortunately. I saw Tool at Lollapalooza though.

 

1st was a Short's Key Lime Pie
Now sharing this while enjoying the Tiger's about to clinch the division.

 

After a night catching up after an unexpected and unwelcome stomach bug, I'm rebounding with a very boozy very relaxing Weyerbacher XVII... I'm not sure I agree with the Saison classifiation, it's more of a boozy Tripel, but enjoyable none the less... Cheers...

 

Hahaha thats a good way of looking at it i guess. it just takes forever for my phone to load these threads now and I'm too damn lazy to upload pics on my PC.

 

Sooo after the Double Jack, I realize that I need another beer, but do not want the alcohol of another DJ. Therefore, the just-as-delicious (if not more) relief comes in!!


(I realize this is out-of-order as far as taste goes, but I can't help my cravings!!)

 

Finishing up studying for the night, and enjoying a Heady while shuttin it down...

I had a Founders Porter straight from the bottle.

I must say, it's definitely more enjoyable when poured, like most beers.

 

Stuff is really tasty, love how sessionable it is.

 

Split a bomber of Foothills Torch Pilsner with my mom before dinner, and I was going to have something else later on but then I had a slice of apple pie. Which was excellent.

Torch is a pretty solid beer, especially for sessioning.

 

Samuel Smith Imperial Stout.

 

weyerbacher 17. first one. just opened some of the 15 this weekend and it was amazing.

 

Unfortunately on to my last growler of Hill Farmstead Abner. Such a great beer!

 

Not too long ago, Minnesota BA and LNBA regular - yamar68 - generously gifted me this bottle for winning one his LIFs (along with several awesome Surly cans). Been waiting for the right time to open it, and tonight just seemed right.


Thanks Bennett! The Abyss is exceeding my lofty expectations.. it's ridiculously good.

Are you actually in Hawaii? If so, awesome. Gotta love a website/community that allows a guy on a tiny island in the Pacific to drink a fresh (I hope) growler of incredible beer that can only be obtained in a tiny brewery 6000 miles away in a location that is hassle to get to even if you are in Burlington, Vermont. Kick ass.
