Back from stroll around the neighborhood with the dogs. Mrs. Z is still in bed with her own cold. I'm feeling much better (I think my medicine is working):rolling_eyes:

I gave up posting on yesterday's thread and turned the phone off out of frustration. TinyPic is still having issues, so I'm defaulting to the dreaded Bucket out of desperation. That's scary!

This years Behemoth is far from scary and while it appears slightly cloudy, the huge hop to malt profile is alive and well. My favorite American barleywine.

Congrats to the Patriots and their fans! It may not have been the best game ever, but it certainly was the best comeback in Super Bowl history.

A plate of chicken breasts headed for the grill. Too much food yesterday left them on the sideline. One for lunch, the rest for some other dishes.

    Have a great week.....

Edit: The Bucket sucks as well, so trying and learning yet another photo hosting site! Here goes nothing....

Having a Tulpomania from Jopen in Haarlem. It came together with this glass and some other Jopen beers in a gift-pack. Very nice gift-pack indeed. I was looking for the glass for some time and two or three of the beers are not widely available.

I can recommend Jopen when you're interested in historic beer recipes, beers with a (hi)story, or when you're interested in just good beer. Instead of trying out extreme new things Jopen tends go back in history, with sometimes a modern twist to an old beer style.

This Tulpomania is based on a 17th century beer style from the City of Liege in Belgium, that was also brewed in the city of Haarlem at that time. Too many words, and haven't even explained where 'Tulpomania' comes from :grinning:

    Cheers!

I do all my posting from my phone so TinyPic was fast and easy because it's all done on the same screen through the keyboard. It's great when it works and a better option than the Bucket which rarely works these days, but it's having more frequent issues of it's own. I guess I found my new default today?

Trying out Founders Frootwood with my wife in these nifty Duvel/Ommegang tasting glasses I grabbed. They're kind of like a double shot glass. Pretty good stuff, a little too sweet for me I think.

In reply to my own post; this glass is just a tiny bit too small.
That fits in the Dutch tradition of small beer glasses however

Either I'm putting you all to shame or I've got a 12-step meeting in my future, as I'm onto my third first page post for the second day in a row... :grimacing:

Double Dry Hopped Summer Street IPA, canned 1/30/17, featuring Simcoe and Columbus hops, 7.2% abv...

Clearly Trillium has totally embraced the idea of the New England-style IPA - you can taste the Super Bowl wins with every sip... Again, a very juice-like appearance, with aromas of lemon, pale grape and grass... Tastes a bit sweeter and more lemony than the others I've had today, maybe a little lighter on the richer fruits and a little tighter with the bitterness: very taut and clean and tongue-gripping; still fully loaded with carbonation and a smooth feel... Another winner...

The missus agreed to Greek food for dinner, so I'm psyched for more gyro - I'm hitting up a local joint called Gyrolicious over in Jericho if any LI natives are curious...

I'm gonna continue that Greek theme with some metal from Athens... :sunglasses:

    Cheers...

You suggested a Monday holiday after Super bowl Sunday a few days back. So, Trump must have written an executive order for just you?:stuck_out_tongue:

Next up, my first offering from The Veil, IdontwanttoBU. 0 IBU IPA. Huge hop flavors still, lemon zest, melon, mango, pineapple, still a nice bitterness on the back end, albeit very subdued.

Beer like that and a free day, yeah I'd hit three posts on one page. I just never have any free days:slight_frown: Today is about as close as it gets.
